Recruiting Football Talk VIII

That’s why I didn’t understand Deboer being upset. I saw it twice, and I didn’t see us change personnel after bringing on the ones after the break. The announcers made a suggestion that we substituted, but I told the people I was watching with that it was after a break and why would we substitute?
Someone may have already answered this, VG...the way I understood it, Bama gets the chance to sub coming out of a timeout, no matter if we subbed/changed personnel during TO or not.

The first sentence of your second paragraph is what I suggested. Bama was running a guy off the field and then that was the guy that turned around and was pushed.

We brought 11 guys onto the field without deception, and Bama had the opportunity to match. But for some reason, they then decided to bring the guy off from the middle of the field, and it was clear they were confused. That’s on them.
True, but out of a time out, they still get a chance to see who those 11 are and make changes accordingly. They had 11 already out there waiting to see what we put out there, then they wanted to change that 11, which they are allowed to do. Though it's not cut and dry that they had enough time/had made a decision they wanted to change after the fact, or if they hadn't yet made their decision.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I don't think it's super clear that they had seen our 11, made their decision about their 11, then wanted to change that decision.

What I don't understand about Pearce is why/how an SEC defender so highly thought of by the NFL and respected by coaches has such a low public profile. With Clowney, Barnett, Von Miller etc. the hype was constant. IDK if it's a byproduct of NIL - where hype is now on contract vs just the more naturally occurring hype in years past - or what. Maybe it's just that Pearce has avoided the spotlight or because his initial recruiting profile was lower than others but I just don't feel he gets the level of hype he deserves. It's almost like people forget about him but when he's mentioned they're usually in awe.
I just hope OC's overlook him.

This isn’t a comprehensive recap but I saw AP in an On3 interview about the recruits reaction to the atmosphere of the game. He mentioned that it’s hard to have a bad time on a visit but that game atmosphere with the win was excellent and excited the recruits. Ultimately he hinted that a player Tennessee has been calling wasn’t answering previously. After the win the player reached out to the coaching staff. AP said it’s a position of need. I guess OL, DL, or RB. Possibly a high ranking recruit.

Lol who was the limp wrist on here that said Judge would only have like 7 HRs away from Yankee Stadium?

"Westside" Knecht update. Prolly see action late 1st or early 2nd quarter. Based on no information, just a guess.

I'm not watching all of those games. But I'm recording them all so I can see when something great happens. I did get lucky (because someone one here said he was rolling) and watched most of his awesome end-of-game the other night.

The Bama radio team also faulted the Bama player who was flagged for hitting Boo in the face with both hands. Bama radio crew said it was terrible mistake by the Bama player. Lost his cool and cost him team dearly. More indication of a lack of discipline on Bama's part.

The TV announcer, on the other hand, manufactured a controversy about the Bama personal foul as another false "talking point." Boo was following the Bama player. He was behind him. To say that "Boo was in his face" was asinine. The Bama player turned back into Boo's face and then hit Boo in the face with both hands.

Insofar as it caught on with viewers, it's an interesting example of something I've mentioned before: How a TV voiceover can convince people to replace what they saw with their own eyes with an account from an "authority."
Claimed it had to have been taunting, without an ounce of an idea of what was being said. A true putz.

I went back and watched. Maybe you are right it’s not as clear. Bama did have guys out there when our offense started coming on the field. But they have eyes in the sky to analyze personnel. I’ve just never seen it where the defense was trying to sub so much, and they were confused right out of a kickoff.

Bishop
Seldon
Keith
Lewis
Baker

Take a transfer.

Development…who on that list has developed other than Bishop? Exactly….so why take another freshman to develop? Get someone to fill Sampson’s place.
3 RB have gotten the lion’s share of the carries this season (really on 2)
