Recruiting Football Talk VIII

That announcer was propagandizing very much during the broadcast. He was much worse than the actual Bammer.

I listened to parts of the Bama radio live coverage last night and they said that the penalty was warranted. There was no disagreement among them about that fact.

That TV announcer looked like he was trying continually to flirt with McElroy. McElroy's wife needs to look into him.
They set my wife off too. During the rewatching of the game she says, "Can't we just turn down these *expletive deleted*s and listen to the game on the radio." I informed her that was only possible when the game was live.

I do like the wait until you get a big enough offer play. It’s a big bet for a first time head coach job because the pressure is so much higher but so are the resources. If you can get a long enough contract you know you have time to learn the lay of the land at the new place and build that culture and buyin you need to be successful.
I just hope Banks hangs around couple more years. GBO 🍊 💪

Winnie Palmer, wife of Arnold, was seated on the couch, next to her husband
Arnold, who was a headline guest on The Tonight Show. Arnie had just won a
big tournament. I have no idea which one, but I would guess it was probably
The Masters or a US Open, since talk shows don't make it a habit of inviting
golfers to be guests except right after a big event for which there was
national interest. Although back in those days (the early '60s), Arnie was
such a media darling, it could have been just about any time.

Anyway, Johnny turned to Winnie and asked her if she had any superstitions
before her husband played in a big tournament.

Winnie replied, "I kiss his balls."

Well, the audience erupted in laughter, and as Johnny did his usual facial
expressions, it just fed the laughter further. The laughter seemed to go on
for a minute or two. The Palmers squirmed uncomfortably.

And then Johnny made a crack about Arnie's putter. The way I remember it
(which could be wrong), it was something like, "I'll bet he'll raise his
putter to that."

Another 2-3 minutes of laughter.

The Palmers weren't so amused, and they sued Carson (for defamation of
character, I believe), the outcome of which I have no idea about (although
it's unlikely they would have won such a suit, since malicious intent must
be proven).

But it was classic Carson.

Do we want UK to beat Auburn to make our *hopeful* win over them the next week look a smidge better, or do want them to lose so they come into Knoxville in full implosion mode?
I hope both of them are really bruised and bloody at the end. I hope they both lose this Saturday.

Dominant, dominate, domination

What I don't understand about Pearce is why/how an SEC defender so highly thought of by the NFL and respected by coaches has such a low public profile. With Clowney, Barnett, Von Miller etc. the hype was constant. IDK if it's a byproduct of NIL - where hype is now on contract vs just the more naturally occurring hype in years past - or what. Maybe it's just that Pearce has avoided the spotlight or because his initial recruiting profile was lower than others but I just don't feel he gets the level of hype he deserves. It's almost like people forget about him but when he's mentioned they're usually in awe.
