Also had the presence of mind to look up field to see that he had a lane for a big return as he was considering downing it for the touchback. While the touchdown saving interception was absolutely the best part of the play, the 50 yard run immediately gave us great field position. He's showing everybody what a truly elite corner looks like. Yes, ints on passes that sailed over the receiver's head, or ints right in your hands...I like those too, don't get me wrong; but, that play McCoy made in the end zone...those types of plays win SEC/National Championships. Not to mention, all of the other plays he makes, and shuts dudes down. Best we've seen at the position in a VERY LONG TIME.
not to mention they tested him 2x in a row after they cheap shotted mccoy and got him out of the gameRicky had such great coverage all night. Won’t show up in the stat line and a lot of detractors will point to giving up the TD but even that was solid coverage against the best WR in cfb
We got great corner play rn.
It's fine. I eat my crown when it comes around. A lot of people don't like what I have to say and that's okay. Most times I just tell it like it is. Sometimes I go overboard. We all do. But I also will admit if I'm wrong. This team, the OL, Nico, still have a long way to go, but they turned a corner in the second half of that game yesterday. Hopefully they keep it rolling though.Classy response to an unnecessary personal attack.
Skimming the thread and read this as Fulmer, Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt were at the game yesterday. Was thinking “holy ****, Heupel is a miracle worker! He’s got three of our worst ever fired coaches back on campus cheering for us?!” Then I remembered Butch coached a game yesterday, and then I re-read the sentence.I love the number of former VFLs that came to the game yesterday, all from different eras: Fulmer, Dooley, Butch, Pruitt.
I can’t name them all, but it’s much appreciated that they are coming back and I love that Heupel encourages those guys to come to the games and are always welcome. That’s what we’re about and should always be about!
