College corners and NFL corners aren't the same. If they were nobody would care about the combine and just draft players based on college stats.

Jeremiah Smith is a 4.5 guy in the 40. That's not game breaker in the pros.
Mike Evans. Davante Adams. Deandre Hopkins. Larry Fitzgerald.

Not game breakers.

40 yard dash is possibly the dumbest metric for success as an NFL WR. Plenty of guys run sub 4.5 who are not good. Plenty more run in the 4.5 to 4.6 range who are perfectly capable to elite. There’s also basically no difference between 4.5 and someone like Antonio Brown at 4.47.

I really didnt want to weigh in on this, but most of the football world disagrees with you for good reason. Attached is an example comparing him to other OSU receivers who are NFL gamebreakers.


BTW, Marvin Harrison Jr. ran a 4.61. A dude who had 62 rec, 885yds, 8 TDs as a rookie and is the WR1 in Arizona.
