Many teams that have more titles in basketball than we do didn’t make it as far as we did. And making the final four days something. It says you are one of the four best teams in the nation amongst how many D1 schools? Final fours matter. They matter big time.

and yet, we've beaten two of the probably final four. Go figure.

But the only reason this “accomplishments” exist is the way the media sells you on the sport. “THE ROAD TO OMAHA” “THE ROAD TO THE FINAL 4”. “THE ROAD TO THE CFP”. Its just marketing at the end of the day.

I still like Pearl, sure I don’t exactly want to see him it all at another school but it won’t suck like UF winning it. And that’s not what I’m arguing. A loss in a final 4 is no different than a loss in the elite 8. A loss in the championship game would actually mean you’re the legit runner up

I’m just tryna figure out why final 4 is the end all be all of that accomplishment. Progress is a fair answer in our case. But at the end of the day only 8 teams make the ELITE 8 which sounds like a pretty cool feat to me but it isn’t carried with the same weight with literally one game being the difference between the two.

I’m blaming the cold shooting on playing a basketball game in a football stadium. I may be forgetting a team, but it feels like Duke is the only one that’s actually shot well in the Elite 8.

Historically, it’s because they’ve always staged the national semifinals in a different venue than the rest of the tourney, which makes it kind of a natural benchmark.
