Hope they can make a deep tourney run so that this one is as memorable for the average fan as it should be.

Absolutely the shear amount of act a fool in a hooked small mouth is unreal. I ve seen them jump 5 feet in the air then hit water and run straight towards the boat then dive under boat and jump behind the boat . Ive hung into some good small mouth on watts bar back in its hay day my biggest was a 7lb 8 oz and that was a fight . I've caught several 9 plus pound large mouths and they dont compare.

A 7.8 smallmouth is huge. I have had a lot of fun catching Smallies on a Float and Fly set up using 4lb test on Norris and Dale Hollow. Set the hook and hang on.

One of my friends in college had a very strange roommate who introduced me to this album. We listened to Neon Meate Dream of a Octafish on repeat laughing our asses off, but by the end, we both thought the song was genius. We also may or may not have been under the influence of a certain illicit substance.

The largest smallmouth I ever caught was almost 4 lbs in Big Creek just out side of Rogersville way bask in the 1950s. It broke the tip of my fly rod and stripped the eyes from the last 2 sections of the pole. My dad drove down Main Street with me hold it out the window of the car. I was nine years old at the time.

If you think he is a good commentator...he is even a better person. I have met him a dozen times and he is just so genuine and raises a ton of money for kids woth cancer and make a wish and the v foundation....he just is a national treasure

The amount of truth to this lol. Caught a 5lber when I was a kid while wading a creek on a live crawfish that I caught. Sight casted to him too. Insane fight. My dad was ecstatic and said I could get him mounted.

Sucker had one more trick up his sleeve.... bucked loose from my dad's hands and swam off. It's been almost 20 years and I still won't let him forget it.

I remember the first time I caught a decent fish. It was probably 3lbs. I was 8-10 years old. I would've sworn that thing was 10lbs, . I about flipped out when I saw how big an 8lb+ bass actually is.
