The blueprint has already been laid. That’s the name of the game, elite defense at all 3 levels, make them take contested shots, and beat them in the paint with the occasional 3. We do not want a 3 point contest or a generally high scoring affair at Bama. I think if Bama scores 85+ they win. If we hold them to less we have a great chance to steal this one.

My expectations for this game trends a bit negative. Based on recent years, the team will go in to Alabama and players will underperform. JJJ and Viscovi will disappear. Our offense will sputter and Knecht will try to pull it out on his own but it won't be enough. Some of this is how we play on the road. But then again, maybe we turn in a Kentucky like game with JJJ scoring 26.

I can be a great teammate, all atta boys and rah rahs. ****, for seven figures ill even offer to get dinner every now and again.
Money is the end-all be-all of existence isn't it?.

In essence...these guys are all being paid big money to be forgotten..

On the other hand, if you stay in school a little longer, you still get paid...albeit less for sure...and there is a good chance the team gets better, accomplishes a lot more and goes much farther thanks to continuity...and then you are always remembered and loved like true Vol greats always are.

It's ironic how often in life, not just sports, that being less self-centered can actually reap greater, more satisfying rewards for you.

What I am driving at...sone of y'all act like it's an either/or thing with the money...and that isn't true at all. Chandler, KJ and JS all could have stayed a little longer and maybe propelled us to a E8 or F4 and reaped the great lifelong satisfying rewards of being a true beloved legend...and STILL got all the money.

Now...all they have is the money. I suppose that is enough for a lot of people.

Kennedy was an average one and done guy. We've seen a ton of one and done players around college basketball and that dude is already forgotten. As far as Nothing he did warrants being in the same realm as what Knecht is doing.

And what Knecht will do from here on out...
Exactly

I think he saying Dune 2 is spicier. . .

Yall are talking about the new version of the old movie?
No...I knew what he was talking about. I was just saying I enjoyed part 1 a lot more than I thought I would...I will say that Denis Villeneuve sure knows how to put a lush visual spectacle up there.

In other words... WGWTFA.

Ive always had to work for it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ dont know any other way. Although Id sure as **** like to try the other way.

What do you mean "actually"? Part 1 was great! Most people enjoyed it. Part 2 is just way better although I will say that the scene of the Fall of House Atreides in Part 1 is still my favorite moment from either film.
What I meant was...I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did....I thought it would be good, but it was actually a great movie that did the source material good.

JJJ and Vescovi are both overdue for a solid game. I think Aidoo and Awaka also have big games. Bama is small. They can’t measure up if we can slow it down and drag them in the mud.

Like our chances if we hold them under 80. Hope to see Aidoo and Awaka take over; Bama doesn't have an answer for either, if they are playing well. ZZ gets back to double-digit assists with two or fewer turnovers. VOLS win by 8
We HAVE to shoot well as a team AND play really good-great defense to win this one imo. I just don't think we win if the offense has one of THOSE games...and you literally never know when this team will have one of THOSE when almost everybody goes ice cold and can't even hit layups and barely 50% at the FT line...like against SC.

I hope we have all of THOSE out of our system.

Clearly there isn't an answer that will make everyone happy. Like most fan bases, we spend an inordinate amount of time complaining how referees are tainted. That might be by the commish, or Vegas, or personal bias...but according to VN, every ref in every game has an agenda. You will never remove bias from a human ref. Ever.

A narrow AI has the potential to completely remove bias, but of course, then we've lost the "human" element. We've also lost the boogie man that we get to blame for everything that doesn't go our way, so that won't be popular.

I would say "pick your poison", but in the end it will get picked for you. If I were a bettin' man, I'd say it'll end up AI, but who knows. Digital music was too perfect, so now everyone is breaking out the record players and vinyl. I guess pops and crackles makes the music better, and perhaps biased officiating is an important part of the game.
Come on man...there are actually good ref crews out there that do a good job...PAY, GRADE and TRAIN them better and then put more crews like that out, and no Pat Adams obvious 💩crews out there...and gripes will go down, although they will never vanish...EVEN WITH AI.

Knecht iso is a great answer to having one of those games though. We haven't had that in awhile

Ooo-rrrr...they could just grade, pay and train better humans.

That's the problem. There's no such thing. It's at...EVERY level..of every sport.

NBA fans hate refs more than any league I've seen.

You can't teach humans to see the minutia from 15 feet away at 100 mph. We have major perception limitations in the areas critically needed for reffing. Now add in natural human (implicit) biases and off we go.

Athletes getting bigger, faster, stronger only continues to amplify the issue.

Simple as that.
