Ooo-rrrr...they could just grade, pay and train better humans.
Clearly there isn't an answer that will make everyone happy. Like most fan bases, we spend an inordinate amount of time complaining how referees are tainted. That might be by the commish, or Vegas, or personal bias...but according to VN, every ref in every game has an agenda. You will never remove bias from a human ref. Ever.

A narrow AI has the potential to completely remove bias, but of course, then we've lost the "human" element. We've also lost the boogie man that we get to blame for everything that doesn't go our way, so that won't be popular.

I would say "pick your poison", but in the end it will get picked for you. If I were a bettin' man, I'd say it'll end up AI, but who knows. Digital music was too perfect, so now everyone is breaking out the record players and vinyl. I guess pops and crackles makes the music better, and perhaps biased officiating is an important part of the game.

Keon Johnson and Jaden Springer have had some pretty underwhelming NBA careers thus far.
I meant to say

Underwhelming basketball careers.

They are already forgotten here, no NBA fans know who they are and they'll likely be in Europe before too long.

If they at least stayed another year here they'd have left some type of legacy. Proof that some of these guys really have no business jumping to the league so quickly.

They were just elite athletes that's it.

Isn’t that more of a title 9 issue?

No, I'm talking about baseball having 11.7 scholarships per team when most teams have 35-40 players. So, very few players even get a full-time ride because they break it up among those 11.7.

Tennis only gets 4.5 scholarships, and again can divide them among the team so no single player usually gets a full ride, despite the team having 8 or more players.

My comment is that the money to pay for the scholarships comes solely from the university, so other than the obvious BS excuse of "leveling the playing field" I think the NCAA shouldn't tell a successful school they can't offer more scholarships.

It's just an excuse for another commercial spot.

Donations and NIL are two separate things. Elite teams have elite coaches and elite players-- and getting them, and keeping them, means filling multiple buckets.

WBB does not have to be a revenue sport to win championships. It does not have to be a revenue sport for UT to continue to provide elite facilities. It does have to be successful within the current landscape where elite players choose programs that allow them to maximize NIL.
I understand they are separate things. Few people will be willing to make NIL donations to the LVs program in its current state. Admin will have to show a commitment to excellence before donations start rolling in. No one is excited about the program right now. Why would UT expect donations without a commitment from them to be better?

You really think we hold them to 77...at home?...🤔 I hope so.

I hope we win, but if our offense sputters and has one of "those" games we will probably get beat by 10+.

I think it will be a 98-90 type game if we win.
The blueprint has already been laid. That’s the name of the game, elite defense at all 3 levels, make them take contested shots, and beat them in the paint with the occasional 3. We do not want a 3 point contest or a generally high scoring affair at Bama. I think if Bama scores 85+ they win. If we hold them to less we have a great chance to steal this one.

I think it is important to make the distinction between being a great Vol and a Vol Great. A great Vol is a great player who played for Tennessee. Stats and trophies are usually at the center of debating great Vols. Chandler was a great Vol.
Becoming a Vol Great is not based on longevity, being on a winning team, or being an All-Pro or All-Star professional, Becoming a Great Vol is about great feats, making fond Tennessee memories, and indelibly marking the soul of every Volunteer. ZZ is a Vol Great. Vol Greats are remembered by how they made us feel and we'll never forget where we were when we felt it.
When we are old and dying in our beds it won't be the stats and the trophies we think about as Vols fans. It will be the memories and the impressions that were made during our Vol journey.

You realize these sites do everything for clicks and they know that nothing will get clicks like ticking off Tennessee fans. Every time there is a list of the best we will be at the bottom and every time the do a list of the worst we will be at the top.

They had a very good reason to jump- guaranteed several million dollars. Everyone in the business world would do it as well. Maybe they could have increased their stock to get picked higher a year later, but there is risk-reward.
