Why not? We don't need to use a scholarship to add another guard to the Bone, Bowden, Turner, Williams class. We need a freshman guard or a guard that would be added to the Pons, Walker, JJ, Fulk, and ZK group. If an upperclassman is added it needs to be a post or a big, scoring wing. Hopefully JJ, Pons, or even Fulk can fit the latter role.

Nobody said add a JUCO point guard, nobody.

PG: JR- Bone
SG: JR-Turner, Bowden
SF: SR-Schofield, SO-Pons, Johnson
PF: JR-Williams, SO-Fulk, RFR Kent
C: SR-Alexander, SO-Walker


I’m aware that some of these guys can move around, but I have them listed at their primary spots because ideally as a coach you would prefer guys to play most of their minutes at their best spot.

There’s a definite need at PG, either a graduate transfer to back up Bone and then you look for a PG in the ‘19 class or a freshman signee this year that can learn behind him and then take over.

Then from there it’s probably a little bit of a best available, but imo with Kent likely to be more of a 4/5, or at least capable of playing the 4, there’s a need for a true 5 going forward...whether that be a freshman or a transfer who has to sit.

That must be the two.

Vandy is gonna be stacked with talent with or without those 2 though. I'm not sold on the coach but you can win without being a coach when you get that many players.

I think they’re going to be overrated, they lose 4 of their top 5 players off a team that went 12-20. Yes they bring in 2 five stars and a four star, but to me it’s similar to what Missouri did, except they returned more than Vandy does. Vandy is going to throw those 3 freshman out there ala Kentucky and we will see what happens, but I wouldn’t be shocked if they aren’t nearly as good as many will predict.

I could definitely see that.

If he keeps bringing in talent like they will eventually be pretty good.

Oh I agree, I’m just not sure a 5* from Nashville who is good friends with another 5* who UNC tells they don’t have room for is going to be something that happens every year.

On the surface I agree, kid from Cali with his choice of schools...we visited him which means we are about 1/10 so far to do so, early signs supposedly are we get a visit, that happens and I will feel better about our chances.

This is some kind of weird fantasy. Why are you making up those two comments? I've seen plenty of speculation that he's leaving. Why do you think I'd claim that he's been a great player?

So an original comment isn't allowed? Everything posted has to either challenge or be in agreement with an earlier post? Did you notice that my comment did not quote any other comment? So what if nobody said to add a JUCO? I said that it doesn't need to happen since the rising junior class is loaded with guards.

Are you saying with 100% certainty that Chris Darrington is leaving?

I was simply saying I didn’t get why you would throw something else into the post that you disagreed with when someone didn’t say it, it would be like mi just randomly saying we shouldn’t add a female guard to our roster, that was all.

Yes, unless something completely changes Darrington is gone, mutual parting of ways...nobody thinks we should pursue a JUCO, seemingly a graduate transfer or a freshman would be the best 2 options.

Well it is the Recruiting Discusion thread, not the Lady Vol Recruiting thread. So I added to the discussion that a 2 to play 2 JUCO wouldn't be a good idea for a PG. I'm not following what I've disagreed with. I didn't quote another post... I just made a comment.

How much time was there between Darrington (or Daniel) first being mentioned and the commitment?

You’ve disagreed with the the entire idea of recruiting any PG at all and have said we need to keep Darrington.

Darrington was early May commitment and Daniel’s was about 3 weeks later, Phillips transferred in between.

I've said that we need a guard in the freshman class. I've also said that Darrington doesn't need to be replaced. If he leaves then IMO we need to add a GT guard unless a really promising freshman is added.
