Kent as a freshman is already more physically ready than Alexander as a junior...give him the redshirt year that Alexander unfortunately never got and you'll have a guy we're happy to have come next season imo.
Boy oh boy this a major stretch. Just because he is more physical doesn't mean he is more ready. Alexander is a shot blocker with quick twitch jumping skills. There is nothing quick twitch at all about Kent. He has a good outside jumper that is where the compliments end for me.
How quick twitch of a jumper was Luke Kornet? Yet he averaged more blocks a game than Alexander? The reason the physically ready is still important for Kent is that regardless of where he is on offense when he plays defnense he will likely still have to be banging down low and competing for rebounds...that's where Alexander's lack of strength has really shown the last 2 seasons.

You compared Him to Alexander and not Kornet so don't change that now.
If he is more ready to play than Alexander then why aren't you expecting him to do so?
Also you say Alexander isn't a good rebounder. You do realize that he is one of the best In the conference rebounding when it comes to minutes played?
I compared him physically to where Alexander is, because Alexander is a Vol, Kornet is not...thought that was pretty easy to understand.
He is physically more ready, doesn't mean his skill is as advanced, or that in 1 summers worth of practices he has surpassed Alexander in the experience category. Alexander should've redshirted but we didn't really have that option, we do with Kent, pretty easy decision.
Lucas Campbell & Brad Woodson are the 2 best scorers on our team if you look at points for minutes played, are you suggesting they get the nod?
There's a reason Walker has surpassed Alexander pretty quickly at the 5 spot.
Alexander averaging 4 rebounds a game playing well less than half of guys like Kornet (ave 6) tells me he is Plenty good enough as a rounder. Same could be said about block shots.
So you don't think there's a reason in which he's not getting more minutes? Or that he's been surpassed by a true freshman?
We might want to wait until a few games before we judge how many minutes walker and Alexander are going to get but again this wasn't about Walker it was about kent. If you are correct Kent should get more minutes than Alexander.
That's fine, but obviously coaches are seeing something for them to have both Walker and Fulkerson ahead of Alexander, no?
If I'm correct in what, that Kent is more physically ready? Pons is more physically ready than Darrington, that doesn't mean he should play more, or does it in your mind?
Again we don't know who is ahead of who at this point. It's all speculation. I expect Alexander to play about 18 min a game and grab 5 or so boards while blocking some shots. Very valuable minutes is what I expect
Basilio is honestly one of the most uneducated talking heads. Today he was talking about how we missed on Petrusev because Barnes does nothing.... Also implied that we never went to see him.
From the couple of practice videos we've seen, I think Kents defensive IQ would be what keeps him off the court this year. I think he could probably contribute offensively, right away. But he was in the wrong spot in those defensive drills a loooot. And Barnes was letting him hear about it too.
But imo this teams identity will be on the defensive end. And if CRB thinks Kent would be a liability this year, then he'll make do with Williams, Walker, Alexander and Fulkerson.

Thank you for admitting that.
He pushes his agenda more than he understands reality. He has a bias against Barnes, probably because he won't give him the time of day. Basilio loved Tindell and Big Gulp... they were on his radio show all the time. Big Gulp used to call in to his post game show from the team bus.
Basilio has a vendetta against Jimmy Haslam. He criticizes him daily and claims every other media person won't. Pilot used to hire Basilio to do remotes about every week. I think that his constant criticism of the Haslam's meddling in TN sports is a direct result of Basilio's losing that account a while ago.
Basilio's 3rd cause is calling for Currie to dismiss Butch immediately. He's claiming that Currie hasn't been given permission yet from the Haslams to fire him. I'm sure that Currie knows what he's doing. Firing Butch now will be far more expensive than letting it play out. TN can probably negotiate a lump sum buyout of $2,500,000 +/- instead of paying out the $8mm or so through Feb 2021.
Basilio is threatening to quit if Butch is still coaching next season. I almost want Butch to survive just to see him back peddle. Plus it would probably mean that TN wins out... which I am in favor of.
