Barnes' teams underwhelmed the last decade at UTjr. Imo But dude was a quality coach at Texas(for most of his ten yr.) and before he got there. The before he got there is the only reason I believe he can succeed here with the sub par recruiting so far.

Forgetting about the supposed recruiting hand cuffs he's wearing here right now(and the idea the this job is just a pay check til retirement, just for conversation purposes), he is probably just as happy taking guys like Chase Johnson who have a good upside but buy into what you're selling. Which is great facilities, a coach that has put multiple dudes in the league and the opportunity to play out the gates.

For those that haven't watched Prov or Clemson play while he was there, watch some. That effort is what he's going for now.imo whether UT landed the higher ranked guys he's missed on or not.

Zach Kent is likely OV'ing for the Alabama game, staff also trying to get Manley to OV that weekend as well. Manley has already visited Purdue and West Virginia, he visits Xavier this weekend...so only 2 officials left for him to take.

@Desmondoliver2:Yesterday I was in NJ...today the ATL! I'm spreading the word on how special Rocky Top is!! Go Vols!

I think the staff is out recruiting pretty hard it's just the media that isn't sharing stories on it. Probably because most of the focus is on the football team right now and stories about that will get more attention and views than basketball recruiting. JMO.

First, let me say I love the optimism in this post. I hope Barnes improves off of last season.

Second, let me be that guy and *tenure

no worries man, any time.

As for the optimism, I've been a Cubs fan all my life. And for years optimism was all I had. :)

I'm starting to wonder if Rick is purposely seeing how many recruits he can lose.

I'm not even mad. Im actually kind of impressed.

Our coaching staff is really good at being bad in recruiting!!!!

I think I know what it is. He has a certain type of player he looking at and going for also I think he really confrontable with the team cause a lot of young talent but also keeping a open mind that someone might transfer and have to look for someone at another position.

It certainly does seem that way. However, after reading an article posted on here a few weeks back about CRB he's a Christian man & follows God on a daily basis. I don't understand though his recruiting ways.

He's allowing way too many player just go elsewhere that we really have a shot at getting. The Chase Johnson thing here recently is what's really shocking me. We pretty much had him in the bag 2-3 weeks ago & all of a sudden he's signing with UF.

I don't know what happened there. Something isn't right with this coaching staff's recruiting for sure even though I know CRB is a good coach & a great man. :dunno:

Maybe we shoulda hired a Buddhist Tony.

Nah! My guy provided us a miracle this past Saturday so against UGA I'll pass on the Buddhist.:p

Yeah Buddha's built for football, offensive lineman, but meant to say basketball.
woulda said Allah but those people will kill ya.

Sorry but this post is dumb and I'm not even Muslim. There are around 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, close to 1/4 of the world's population. If the religion taught to kill we would all be dead. Just like Christianity they teach peace and love.
