Ok. So he's not wrong, just has the services mixed up. Scout dropped our top targets, not 247.

He is riding Barnes pretty hard on his blog and on his show. I gotta say, my worst fear about Barnes was that he would come here and think he could coast to retirement. The longer it has went, the more I'm afraid that is true. Big year for him in recruiting and on the floor.

Pretty sure it appears Stokes dropped on scout but it's because he was a Fb recruit 4star. Don't think he was ever rated as a hoops recruit

However just a couple days ago he said he disregards all rankings except 247, so if he did mean scout it just shows the clear agenda which he is pushing.

As I have said many times, Barnes has done enough already to be criticized or questioned, people don't need to try and fabricate things like Basilio is to try and bolster their case.

How do you figure, Basilio said they were all dropped to 3*, that is false, everyone of our top 5 targets is still a composite 4*

I haven't been listening much lately so I don't know what he is talking about with the rankings or who he is considering our "top targets" on 247. He has Jerry Meyer on his show a lot and Jerry is pretty hard on Barnes so I am guessing that is where this comes from but I don't know.

I doubt he is fabricating.

I just laid it out there, he says he only goes by 247 composite, then says 247 has dropped all our targets to 3*...well all our targets are still 4* composites, he's wrong, pretty clear.

Just my opinion but I would think Stokes based on offers from UNC and Florida would be a 4 Star and Tyler Polley would his big upside would be a 4 Star. So I look at them as 4 Star's.

Has 247 updated their composite since Scout dropped our targets in the rankings?

For the record, I'm not a fan of the 247 composite.

I'm puzzled that we haven't followed the lead of Louisville and Memphis and offered Victor Uyaelunmo's brother Solomon(018).

I think a Louisville offer for Uyaelunmo along with UCONN and Florida would make him deserving of a 4* also

That's the thing, they didn't drop, none of those guys were 4* by scout prior to yesterday anyways, they just didn't rise up to a 4*...that's why Basilio's comments really stuck out, way off base.

I doubt he would make it up and then put it on his blog. Maybe he has a different list of targets than you do. I can't imagine he made it up and put it out there for people to pick apart. Although, the interest in UT hoops is pretty low right now as a highly anticipated football season is about to kick off.

Like I said, I haven't listened to him lately so I don't know what he is referring to. I'm sure he has discussed it on air.

Its not about having the facts right with Basilio.......its about discrediting Barnes any way he can.

He definitely loves to take shots at Barnes. He makes some good points while doing so but can be a little unfair.

He thinks Barnes thought this was a "sleepy" job where he could put it on cruise control.

So far, he may be right. It's getting better though. Have to get one of our top 4, 2 would be amazing.
