A few post back I told him the exact same thing. Junk post from this dude! Nothing & I mean nothing we posted was negativity towards the basketball program.
My post was not directed at you individually. Sorry. It was directed towards being negative. If I misread your post to be negative I apologize. Butsome have taken more shots at Coach Barnes lack of recruiting more than a redneck takes a shot at the toilet after a night of drinking. Their are several on here that do nothing but take cheap shots every chance they get.
You quoted my post so how was it not directed towards me? Mistake? Fair enough. I've done that before myself. Quoted the wrong person. It's all good!
You guys were talking about Tennessee has a ceiling just because Pearl is gone. That's what I meant by quoting your post. They are upgrading our facilities. They are constantly looking to improve. Everyone knows we will never be Kentucky with their history. But the best facilities isn't far fetched. And winning the SEC is yet to be seen in the future. To say we can never be higher than 2nd is being negative is all I meant.
We could be #1 and there's no way I'm playing naked twister with guys lolDear gracious if this program achieves being 2nd in the SEC on a year in and year out basis we all should all play naked twister at noon on Saturday on the courthouse steps
To say this program is 2nd in the SEC is a hell of a POSITIVE/OPTIMISTIC view point
I dang sure hope we get there

It's true. Look at that atmosphere vs Texas. The Kansas game. We were on top of the world, and were the best atmosphere in the pearl era. The last time I saw anything close to that, was the last years uk game.
Wade Houston - 5 years, zero NCAATs.
Kevin O'Neill - 3 years (all losing records), zero NCAATs.
Buzz Peterson - 4 years, Zero NCAATs.
Cuonzo Martin - 3 years, ONE NCAAT.
Donnie Tyndall - 1 year, zero NCAATs.
Five of the previous seven UT coaches -16 years and one NCAAT. Both of the UT coaches that took TN to the other NCAATs post Devoe were fired. TN is lucky to have a proven winning coach working on extinguishing this dumpster fire. An unproven coach would fail miserably in this situation.
Barnes isn't the problem. Barnes can be the solution. The loud critics don't want to admit it, but the program was in shambles and it will take a while to get it on solid ground as it was in the Mears and early Devoe years.
Critics also don't want to admit that despite the final record in 2015-16, the team was well coached. There wasn't an opponent (with the possible exception of Nebraska - 11 point loss) that TN was unable to compete with. The longest losing streak of four games with two of the most lopsided losses happened shortly after the best player had a season ending injury. Even after that roster disruption (plus two post players quiting/giving up mid season) TN was able to regroup and take two of three in the SECT. That probably has happened in less than half of all SECTs.
If TN exceeds expectation in 2016-17, that would have the biggest impact on landing the prized recruits. So I hope that the over/under for losses is around 20.
Barnes, or any coach, must overcome the cluster **** that has been TN Basketball for over 25 years before the coveted big man is going to sign... they have too many less risky options. If the 7 freshman newcomers show that they can play then the odds of grabbing a couple of highly rated recruits get considerably better. 4 and 5 stars weren't/aren't going to dive into the flaming dumpster.
Where was all this logic and 4 year building plans when Martin was here.
He was crucified out the gate for early losses at places like Memphis. And he wasn't a HOF-er. He was a 3 year wonder.

Burnin, you have info on GA kids from time to time, any idea why we didn't even make Lance Thomas' top 6 or whatever?
