Tee might come but I just don't see him being able to play 2 sports. It's been done before I know, but it's rare. I've said this before but he'd be playing football until January I guess he could join the team at the start of SEC play? I guess he'd be well conditioned already though which would be a plus.

Its definitely tough. At least with the number of guards we're gonna have Tee and Butch shouldn't have to worry about overusing him.

Also I'm not trying to say he doesn't have the ability to play both, because he's a baller at both, but He'd only be able to play half of the year. I guess that could be a good thing if he didn't have to use a scholarship.

Obviously depends on the football teams season, but yes, he would likely join in some time around the start of SEC.

Rob Lewis has said he's a top 50 basketball player, he won't take up a scholarship, it's a win-win all the way around, even if his contributions aren't massive.

That'd be ideal.

As far as Stokes or the other 2 mentioned, I like the other two's potential better than what I've seen from Stokes. Not trying to diss a vfl's little bro. Jmo

What's your thoughts on "little" Stokes game?

Similar to Jarnell he's undersized for his body/position...I'm curious to watch the next couple months with him playing AAU. He has dedicated himself solely to basketball so he is trying to trim down from his football weight, he had a great opening weekend in AAU. He is further along in his ball handling and jumper than Jarnell was, but not nearly as polished with his back to the basket. He ideally would be a 4, maybe a little 5, but obviously that depends somewhat on you roster makeup and style.

It looks like he has slimmed down quite a bit. His offensive of game and shot looks way better and ahead of what JS' was imo. He actually has a pretty nice jump shot. It looks like he brings the ball up some too. He could possibly play some 3?

It's possible, this AAU season will be big for him, playing EYBL is a great move by him, although it'll definitely ramp up the competition for him you'd have to think.

As you mentioned, depending on his development he's probably primarily a 4 who could play a little 3 or 5 depending on the guys around him and the opposition.

From what I've read on the fb forum, and recruiting forum, there's no chance.

Dallas I am over there constantly, and go ahead and look at his thread too. Fortenberry himself said and I quote: "It's really hard not to see Tee ending up a vol." Stick to the basketball forum bud lol.

BTO what's your gut feeling on where stokes ends up? I'd really like him to end up a vol. Hes a big, but he's a big with some touch and athleticism.

Saw something along the lines of "give it a rest already." When somebody brought up Higgins.

For those interested, here's the 2017 target list...

Updated list, Thomas is a possible UOV this weekend, I would think the staff looks to add 2, at most 3 in the early signing period for 2017. Bolded are the guys I think they are either 1. Pursuing the hardest AND/OR 2. The guys they are in a good spot with early...

2017 Offer List:

#9 Ikechukwu Obiagu
#10 Hamidou Diallo
#15 Nick Richards
#22 MJ Walker
#56 Lindell Wigginton
#61 Rayshaun Hammonds
#69 Alex Reese
#70 Andre Rafus
#82 Victor Uyaelumno
#92 Tyler Polley
#128 Lavar Batts
#140 Ibrahim Doumbia
#141 Nicholas Claxton
#142 Zach Kent
#147 David Sloan
#179 Lance Thomas
#161 Wyatt Wilkes
#187 Isaiah Stokes
NR Victor Enoh

Main guys IMO: Obiagu, Walker, Rafus, Uyelumno, Polley, Doumbia, Thomas, Stokes and Enoh.

Mj Walker is the only guy under 6'8" on the list, pretty clear the priority for this class is some size and athleticism in the post.

"He could commit to Clemson and I still think he ends up vols

Just too many factors bringing him here" -Go Fight Win

That was from one of the more reliable posters on VN, especially with recruiting. Add in what Fortenberry said I think this trumps everything you read Dallas.

We need our passing game to improve this year, which I think it will. Imo I think last years lack of passing game kind of turned him off. But tbh Dobbs will be gone and Dormady, JG, or Jones will be taking over and are all better, more accurate passers than Dobbs. If you were an elite WR and watched our passing game last year you'd probably have second thoughts about playing here.

I wouldn't say that's a win win for everyone. Football will be the priority and anything taking away from that hurts in the most important area. The odds this kid plays hoops for us is very very low IMO

Then the odds he plays football for Tennessee are also extremely low, it's been said he won't consider any school for football that won't allow him to play basketball.

I think we will tell him what he wants to hear. When push comes to shove he won't play both IMO anywhere

He seems pretty serious about it, not sure bold faced lying about that would be wise. I understand lies are told in recruiting, but IMO that one would be a little bit worse than your typical, "you're gonna compete for a starting spot" lie that's told.

If the kid is telling coaches he loves basketball and wants to play both and Butch tells him he can here, and once here he says sorry I lied, that likely doesn't end well IMO.
