I've mentioned Tee Higgins as being a huge bonus to the basketball team if Butch can land him, Rob Lewis today said he thinks Higgins is definitely a top 100 guy and quite possibly top 50...adding him to the '17 class while not counting against our scholarship limit would be huge.

In that scenario does Tee count against the walk-on limit? 13 on scholarship plus two walk-ons for a total of 15 becoming 13+1+1 or can the roster be a total of 16?

According to the VQ War Room, we are competing against Seton Hall, Wichita St., Mississippi St., and others for Holt.

“Dear Indiana University Community,

While my dismissal from the Indiana basketball team was a consequence of my own choices, I’m primarily guilty of doing what most young college students do on any given weekend which is participate in campus life which often includes engaging in the use of alcohol. As a member of the Indiana basketball team I realize that I am held to a higher standard than most college students, coaches and family down and for that I’m truly sorry. I promise to learn from my mistakes and I look forward to pursuing my studies and my basketball career at Indian Hills. I want to thank Coach Crean, the entire staff, my teammates and most of all the great fans of Indiana Basketball for my time I’m Bloomington.

Sincerely,

Emmitt Holt”

He should be banned for life from the game of basketball for being a college student and underage drinking.

I'll play a little bit of devil's advocate here. As most of you know, coaches, staff, and faculty are privy to typical college students' lifestyles. They would never publicly condone it, but you best believe they are aware and, like with ALL college students, there's a level of leniency with it. Now I would be the last person to criticze anyone for partying, but maybe the fact that he was dismissed implies something more than typical college partying. Maybe it was just partying, but at a level that was bringing himself, and in turn, his team down.

So MAYBE, just maybe, there is something to worry about?

I don't know, and no one else here does either.

My sentiments.
Crean got him off track.
His original plan was to go to prep school and reclassify.
Not a back to the basket guy, but lots of energy and lives on the offensive board.
How long do you wait on the Turk if we can only take 1?

If he was a 5 star you wouldn't have heard a word.
He was an unrated player Crean took a chance on. probably had an ace in the hole.

True.

I would have liked to see criticizers' reactions to some of the athlete partying I saw a few years ago. I watched Chism fall out of the bed of a moving pickup. Thought he broke his hip, but popped back up, and hopped back in.

I don't think the Louisville kids were drinking Koolaid at their alleged sex parties.
It's a fact of life. Young kids drink.

He definitely should have been dismissed by Indiana... He was drinking and driving and seriously hurt a teammate........ It was determined not to be his fault bc he wasn't drunk and they couldn't determine why the teammate got in the way of his car... He was suspended four games for underage drinking and even though his teammate suffered a TBI chose to drive drunk. I'm ok with giving him a chance but he needs to be on a short leash.

Where'd you read this? Account I read said he was a passenger and wasn't even charged.
