If he was a 5 star you wouldn't have heard a word.
He was an unrated player Crean took a chance on. probably had an ace in the hole.

Yeah. As far as I know reports didn't make much of a difference between Holt and Bryant. Yet Bryant was punished "internally". Lol.

Bryant was punished internally bc holy had already committed a serious offense and was pretty much on a zero tolerance type thing

Then maybe I'm confused with the players. There was one of the guys who had been suspended before for drinking and got the same thing I thought. Could be wrong.

Idk, too many suspended players at IU to keep them all straight.

He was the only one to be drinking and hit a teammate causing a serious brain injury.... He was ruled not his fault but still a serious infraction on the team

It shouldn't happen, but I know it does.

If they stay out of trouble I see little wrong with it, they're college kids, if they were being paid as professionals then maybe they should have some rules to follow, but playing sports doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the aspects of college 99% of other students do.

99% of college don't drink and party. I'd say it's more around 40-50. I know of three careers that were ruined because of the exact thing.

If he was legally drunk he'd be in prison. .025 is a long way from .08.
I would say if Barnes and company are talking to him, it's being discussed.
Take a chance? Barnes' call.

Wouldn't bother me either way.

From personal experience I was on the baseball team at Carson Newman, and I was around other athletes all the time. Dallas most of those kids drink and party 24/7. I know I was just at one college, but it is a "Christian" university and the alchohol was flowing lol. I can probably imagine it's much worse at regular schools, especially big sport D1 schools.

I'm ok with taking a chance on him but the convo acting like he is a victim and didn't deserve to be dismissed is not accurate

Yeah, I agree. Fool me once..............
Is he another Woodson? who knows.

Like I said, that stuff ruins careers. I've seen it happen.

It can, so can motorcycles, that wasn't the discussion though. You were trying to say it's not all that common when in fact over 3/4 of college kids do it, like I said, you may wanna realize that before enrolling at a big school like UT.

Holt attended indianas NCAAT game last weekend, Tom Crean went into the stands to hug him and came away in tears, my guess is that this guy isn't a Woodson, just a kid who made some really dumb mistakes and left his coach no choice.

I like his game. and it fits the Barnes scheme that emphasizes controlling the offensive glass.
I'd be fine if we took him.

I said I knew they do it, but I don't think they should.

Dallas

Big difference between being social and the extreme.

Peyton Manning was extremely social and as he said after the SB he drank a lot of Budweisers in his time in knoxville but it wasn't extreme.

Those kids that party their way out of athletics are sad but not all kids that partake fit that category

Where have you seen it first hand? Dallas, I know you are a good guy, but alcohol flows. Whether you are at UK, UK, or a small school. College kids are going to be college kids. Most will use it recreationally, it might cause a few problems, but they'll turn out fine in the long run.

With highschool team mates, and friends that I've met through highschool. I don't wanna say his name, but he could've went big. He had interest from Ohio state, Louisville, and Kansas, but he was busted for underage drinking, and they all went away.

That's BS, it didn't all go away because he was busted one time for underage drinking while in HS. There was clearly something else that happened, or he wasn't that highly sought after to begin with.

Doubtful. Where did this guy end up going since all the big schools ran away?
