If Barnes didn't want it out there, he shouldn't have said anything to any media member. Barnes was pretty dang quiet about recruiting when he got here. If he opens his mouth and the word gets around, that's his fault.

And once pdogg said "your boy played good against the Nets" it was easy to figure out what "Turkey" team played the Nets in an exhibition game. Then from there, look at the roster and see which player is under the age of 18. And bingo.

It is much simpler than that . You google Turkey and NBA draft 2017 and you have a name in twenty seconds and save the board from going through thirty posts to find the secret. Of course it is not a secret because it had been talked about on VQ and a six year old code breaker could find out the name. It is very similar to all the stuff that comes from VQ that is presented as some scoop.

I should have found a more effective way to communicate that the info was no big secret and available to anyone subscribing to VQ and knew how to google.

The other way was to look at Rob Lanier's twitter profile and see which Euro basketball players he's following. These guys keep top secrets about as effectively as the Secretary of State, 😀

That information about the specific player was on VN before it was on VQ fwiw

Solid call BTO, idk who you heard it from(I'd assume someone close to who told me), but I usually lurk in here, and post more in the recruiting forum. I heard about this kid right after Christmas and that we were trying to pull him. Dude's a stud.

Just for fun and if we get this young Dirk he would be a starter for sure?

Everyone in that lineup can hit the 3. You finally have a pg that we have been missing for years, and a true post presence that can actually score with solid post moves and someone that's a legit 6'11-7'0, who can also block a ton of shots.

If this team got thier chemistry on a high level they could be a tourney team.Having a true PG and a Big would be exciting.

I saw somewhere that this kid has been playing pro ball in Europe since he was around 14. What makes his situation different than another Turkish basketball player Enes Kanter who was in a similar situation? I was looking back through some articles and the reason Kanter was denied eligibility was because he made over $30,000 and made more than his "actual and necessary" living expenses. Is 30,000 the limit that you're aloud to earn? I'd love to have this kid but the NCAA loves to take out all of their anger on our basketball program for some reason and has already denied eligibility on 2 separate players in the past 2 seasons. I bet they'd love to hit the trifecta on us on deny 3.

Yeah, I mean I'd love to have him, but you better have a back up plan.
