I guess I am old school and think parents and family ought to let kids grow up and family stay out of public eye.

Could be like the Maymon situation where dad thought he was playing the wrong position.
Worked out okay for us.

That's the first I heard this. Where did Dad think he should be playing?... because Maymon thought he was a point guard in the RTL and liked to bring the ball across midcourt a lot for TN.

I believe Buzz was playing him at the low post and dad thought he should be a 3/4 swing man.

That would have to be an awfully thin lineup to have him playing as a 3. He's a 4. Could be a 5 against an opponent with a small front court. Unless the parent's name is Archie, they need to stay out of the coaches office.

He was playing the 5 because of injuries to other players. Got a bad rep at Marquette for not being a team player.
Really turned his life around here.
I think tim settled down and was pretty happy here too.

Because he can play 3 positions. That's how. But you win. He isn't a tweener. He is a 6'5 daddies boy that will go elsewhere so it doesn't matter.

So he plays power forward? Even if he did, which I've seen nothing saying he does, his primary position is a SG...so because he can play the 4 according to you that makes him a tweener? A tweener is a guy who doesn't have a position, or who's primary position he's small for, Grandstaff is not considered a tweener at all for a SG, which is what he plays. Even if you slide him to the 3 he's hardly considered a tweener at 6'5" 200lbs, like I said, I've seen nothing suggesting him as a PF.

Was he a sophomore his first year here with Bruce (he was a senior in CCM's third year... I think he maybe took a M-RS here)? If he was a freshman for Bruce... any playing time should make a freshman happy and their parents should stfu about how and where. But again, his freshman year was probably played in Wisconsin.

I'd like to see Grandstaff in orange, but he doesn't need to be a package deal with his Dad telling a future HOF coach how to do his job.

That's the issue, he saw himself as something he wasn't. Buzz was playing him where he belonged, Maymon didn't like it, Pearl sold him on being a point forward type so he'd have the ball in his hands a lot, like Tyler smith. Martin convinced him to buy into being a bruising 4/5 man, which to his credit he did.

I wasn't following. I thought that "Buzz" was a mistake and "Bruce" is what was meant. I forgot about Williams. Now I'm going to read the replies again...

I get confused in some of these threads. Talking about 4 different guys at once. Hard for an old guy to keep up.

I'm asleep now. I've lost interest in this

Lots of players have family who seem incapable of just letting the kid do his thing. Always seeking the limelight. Sad and pathetic.

Westleyan- Kwe Parker 23pts, Jalen Johnson 14pts 6rbs, David Caraher 16pts @CityOfPalmsBKB #CityofPalmsClassic

Don't look like much of a chance at Grandstaff, apparently he had a son in June and has been itching to get closer to home to be with him, sheds a little light on why he's obviously leaving OSU. Mentions Baylor, SMU, Texas Tech, Okie State as all possibilities.
