Recruiting Discussion

I didn't look to hard into their careers but 4 and 7pts a game didn't impress me too much

My apologies if they did a lot more I really have no idea and was only looking at what you posted. Look like roll players to me

All conference players, wouldn't classify them as simply role players. Role players are guys who come off the bench and play a role IMO, someone who starts every game and make an all conference team deserves a little more praise IMO

All conference first or second team no doubt I agree.

All defensive and averaging 4pts per game is a very solid role player to me even if they are a starter.

I guess the 99% of players that didn't get drafted that season shouldn't have bothered.
Are we being a little short sighted?

No one is saying there is an issue with role players being recruited. It's being said that crb surrounded those diamonds in the rough with Bigtime recruits at Texas. Most of us have questions if a winning program can be built without the 4/5star type recruits. That's all we are trying to say.

Bone, Johnson, Fulk, Williams would be a solid haul for the fall class. I would prefer just signing 3 but that's just me.

I have some concerns but I think Barnes will follow up with a better class in 2017.

Those 4 followed by a 2017 class with 3 top 100 players and the foundation is set but it would take 3 to do that IMO.

I don't see anyone saying that?

Pretty much what I've been saying, add Fernando in the spring and 2-3 top 100 in 2017 class and everything is just fine IMO

That's a start. That would be a roster with four top 100 guys. Still wouldn't be a top half of the SEC roster. Need to keep adding 2 a year after that to really come up with an every year NCAA team which has a good shot at making a Sweet 16, Elite 8 run every 3 or 4.

I would think 4 top 100 complimented by ~4 top 150 prospects rank in the top half, no?

A few more I didn't see on the list Bleeding. Pretty sure these are the 247 Comp.

Hammonds and Wilkes are on the list, Harvey and Rufus were offered by the previous staff, thank you though.

That would be great. Right now they have one other guys- Johnson. Jordan Bone might be that in more than one service by Spring. Fernando is a total mystery at this point.

Not sure why you say that about Fernando, rivals and 247 both included him in their updates, 247 has him at #118 in theirs. He's not been seen a lot, but to get that ranking with limited exposure speaks volumes to where he likely ends up IMO.

I was referring to mystery about where he'll wind up. If Tennessee gets a visit, that'll be big.

Wouldn't be shocked to see the Vols offer Peyton Broughton soon, he's a 6'4" shooting guard from London, KY. He visited campus a couple months ago and since basketball practice has started UT coaches have been in multiple times to see him, Rick Barnes made the trip today to watch him work out. Has a host of mid major offers to go along with a Clemson offer, as of the time of this post Tennessee hadn't offered but just figured I would share.
