Typical bruin, can't be more than one factor, has to be the simplest of simple for him to grasp it, sad really.
Either way he wasn't a recruiting splash anyway
I don't disagree with that at all, but that's what cracks me up, per Dallas he would've been a wow get along with Blackwell. So if those guys committed in April while they were both top 50 recruits, would they have been splashes? But then the splash would've been nullified in the updated rankings, is that what you're saying?

Adu and Blackwell would have raised this class a letter grade for me. From a D/C to a C/B depending on what happens with our other spots.
One without the other would take it from a C to a C+ for me
I think we are going to end up with a C but if we lose fulkerson and Williams it could be worse IMO
Right, except that's not what I asked, at all lol. I didn't ask for your letter grade, I was talking about at what point would those guys be splash recruits/not splash recruits? On that topic, what exactly constitutes a splash recruit? Top 100 on date committed? Top 100 on date signed?
Because I happen to know first hand of a violation he's already committed to land a prospect, so if the talk was had then he's gonna be out of a job pretty soon if he's under minding Jacobs that quick. Again, did Jacobs give him a talk, oh I'm sure, did he include in that talk that if he doesn't get caught I don't really care what you do, I think to some extent that's also true, what does auburn basketball have to lose??
Again, agree to disagree but I think Hart's talk to Barnes was much more serious than the one most AD's give out, but that's just my interpretation of it. I don't think you'd have seen the staff drop Ado quite like they did, same for Romello White, and all of a sudden be targeting well brought up kids, or kids with Ivy League offers, if that wasn't the case.
Sorry bad post on my part
If fulkerson commits now it will be far from a splash. If he ends up on the top 100 in reality it should have been a big splash.
PR wise the public will only remember his current ranking at commitment IMO
I'm calling BS on your having first hand knowledge on this. If you did you would have called the NCAA pronto if nothing else but your disdain for Pearl.
Really all the hype about recruiting is all silly unless they are top 10 overall recruits.
If I understand your statement, i really disagree. Tennessee is in its sixth year of bottom half to bottom third of the conference and out of the top 30 in the nation recruiting. It's not coincidence that the roster has grown weaker as the remnants of that 2008-2010 recruiting classes moved on. There isn't a 100 pct correspondence, but there is high correlation between recruiting top classes and success in any sport. Unless Tennessee starts supplementing the three stars with some "splash" or "wow" recruits, it won't compete for NCAA berths much less conference championships.
