So you're suggesting we enter next season with 9 scholarship players?

Nope, but you don't have to have 13 either. I'm saying that you could get guys as good or better than Williams and Fulkerson in the Spring. They did last year with Alexander and Kasongo and Turner.

Rather than lock in development guys in the Fall, give yourself a chance to build some relationships with guys. If you find guys to fill out all the scholarships in the Spring great. If not, sign a couple then and hang on to one or two more for your next class.

This is my stance now. The difference makers are gone IMO.

Take 1-2 more guys and shut it down until the spring or 17

Really, they did last year?

What were the HS rankings for Kasongo and Alexander? Turner is the only one you've got a legitimate case for, Alexander was ranked in the 300's and had 2 P5 offers, yet you're going to say he's as good of a pickup as Fulkerson who's ranked close to the top 150, or even Williams who's top 200 and has multiple P5 offers? That seem like quite the reach to me.

Fulkerson, Bone, Okogie, Johnson and Williams are a heck of a lot better than Phillips, Schofield and Alexander...I'm truly not sure how you can even attempt to argue otherwise.

Yeah, 2016 is a bust basically, just go all in 2017.

Tough to say its a bust when we haven't even gone through the early signing period there is so much movement that occurs in the Spring. This class can still have surprises. Happens all the time.

There's nobody left that would be any type of "hell yes." Reaction, Johnson is probaly the best player left on the board.

What the poster is talking about is spring decommitments, it happens every year. Say Will Wade gets fired for beating up a player, and Jenkins decommits and ends up at Tennessee, that wouldn't be a "hell yes"? Obviously this scenario is not real, but I'm just using it as an example...recall the free for all on Florida's players when Donovan left? Stuff happens every spring and guys you don't expect become available, it's why so many staffs save a scholarship every year for the spring, it's like free agency.

With that said, Bruno Fernando is trending towards being a top 100, and likely top 75 recruit, IMO that would deserve a hell yes.

I agree, but the class in not complete, so saying it's already a bust when those guys are all still available seems a little premature. No?

Maybe. I was just hoping for atleast one of jenkins, balckwell,or ado. You look at Jenkins, you have an athletic sg who can score the ball at a high rate. With Blackwell, he is similar to Hubbs in that he could come in and dominate, or it make take him a while. He's athletic, can handle good for his size, and is a good three point shooter mechanics wise. With ado, he's a freak of nature on the defensive end, would be a shot blocker that we haven't had In a long, long, time. I can't even remember who it was.

Ah, ok, my apologies. I took it wrong. Had no idea about Bruno, is the competition he plays against good?

Most scouts would say Fernando over Ado, so if Ado was a guy who would make the class for you how is it that Fernando would not?

Again what does that mean? Either they were right or wrong. For every Steph Curry and Damion Lillard you can name I can name 10 guys they hit on.

Havnt you spent a great deal of time the last few months saying the "scouts" are wrong about Blackwell/Ado/Williams/Fulkerson/....ect ??

And now this!

Comedy Central

Link to where I said "scouts are wrong", no worries, I'll wait :whistling:

I HAVE said, "I believe certain guys are trending/their stock is improving", but no, I don't believe I've said "scouts are wrong" on those guys.

I will say, it's shocking how wrong YOU have been lately on multiple occasions, you're slacking Bruin, you used to be better at this.

Oh my.

So the scouts are right when we want them to be and wrong when we don't.

Sounds about right.
