For those with a Rivals subscription, he's a thread con the relative merits of Fulkerson/Williams vs Ado/Blackwell from perspectives of two of their analysts.

Correct me if I took it the wrong way, but thE impression I got was two kids who are likely at least a couple of years away from contributing a lot. Thanks for posting, good to have some other insight besides VQ.
For those without a sub, it's Eric Bossi (national analyst) and Dan Maconald (Georgia analyst)...they basically confirm that Blackell and Ado's stock has plummeted, but Bossi said he wouldn't take Fulkerson/Williams over Blackwell/Ado, but admits he hasn't seen Fulkerson play. Bossi was pretty complimentary of Williams, and Macdonald said he's heard mixed reviews on Fulk but also admits to not having seen him play. Bossi goes on to say the coaches were really hamstringed in the '16 class with lack of evaluation days and getting a late start as they were still putting together the '15 class into April and May, '17 looking better.

We keep talking about stock dropping like that means a kid isn't going be a good player
Glad some of you aren't my stock broker
I will take my 90$ share that was 100$ a year ago over another stock that has risen from 3 to 5$ Any day of the week and twice on Sunday!
Yes I agree, but that's not a shock to me, I've said the upside to Fulk is potential and not immediate contribution. Fulk is a 4/5, Williams is either a 3/4 or a 4/5, Tennessee has McGhee/Kasongo/Alexander in the post developing, so ideally you don't need either to come in and contribute right away.
If there's a position you need immediate contribution it's PG IMO
And, this is more a personal preference, but if I'm in Barnes' position , I'm not taking kids who might be able to play in two-three years at positions where you are currently well-stocked. I hold those scholarships
And, this is more a personal preference, but if I'm in Barnes' position , I'm not taking kids who might be able to play in two-three years at positions where you are currently well-stocked. I hold those scholarships for a class where - if relationships really were the critical missing ingredient - you have had time to build the relationships. Or, I hold them for Spring when transfers and guys springing loose from commitments are abundant. I was a lot more impressed with Barnes' Spring signing efforts than I am with this Fall. Why not try that again? Again, not like this will change. Just my POV.
Yes it makes sense now for sure because the staff pissed away any chance to get Blackwell/Ado. They put all their eggs into Jenkins/Williams basket and got lazy thinking both were in the bag IMO.
This staff has made their evaluations and are trusting them, you yourself have said you can't judge a recruit for 2-3 years, if 2-3 of Bone/Okogie/Johnson/Williams/Fulkerson end up being 2-3 year starters and making an all-sec team then all this looks pretty damn foolish.
Yes BTO I know the staff didn't want ADO or Blackwell from the start.
They wanted and thought they were going to fill their class with fulkerson/Williams/Jenkins.
The staff overestimated their ability to get who they targeted and for that they deserve criticism because either they chose to ignore their backup plans or got lazy.
They should have wanted Balckwell and/or Ado considering their other failures IMO.
Being 2-3 year starters and making an All-SEC team are pretty wide variances. Being 2 year starters on 15-16 win teams, not so hot. Two or three of those guys being All-SEC, outstanding. I'd be happy for two of them to be starters on NCAA tournament teams, one of them to be All-SEC (first, second or third) and the rest to get recruited over, quickly.
