I recall posting that that was Barnes' mindset, I thought blackwells visit meant he was a priority and this staff really wanted him, no?

He may or may not be but him not visiting doesn't prove either.

All it proves is his recruitment is likely a dead end. They kid I am sure doesn't like how he clearly was given a cold shoulder

I questioned 3-4 weeks ago the order of the visits. You disagreed


Said it was odd for fulkerson to be the last one. You disagreed

I said it was "interesting" when the fulkerson visit was moved up. You disagreed.

I said burners visit would likely be postoned until after the Fulkerson visit and you disagreed.


Not sure you ridiculed as that word was directed at the poster that said my opinion was Absurd. I enjoyed seeing that post from Vq especially for that poster

He's been given a cold shoulder by everyone except Vandy, he's taking visits to schools who don't really even want him, but he's enjoying free trips. I don't think Blackwell pulled the plug on a visit, I think it's much more likely this staff just doesn't see him as a legitimate option in that he's likely Vandy bound and that they also just aren't intrigued by his potential, so they probably feel it's a waste of a visit.

I can agree with that for sure. Waste of time of time because it sounds the staff didn't do a good enough job keeping him on the hook if we lost out on other recruits. Hard thing to do for sure but another bad sign IMO

No Bruin, I didn't flat out just disagree. I said there could've been reasons why Fulkerson's was moved, possibly he didn't think he originally could make it in for the Arkansas game for whatever reason. Also, when you went on to say Bruner's visit could he postponed, I didn't say anything back, so it's clearly your memory that's going, not mine.

I know it hurts you to see someone that doesn't follow recruits twitter and all the sites put a lot of the pieces of the puzzle together but it sure seems that is exactly what has happened

You pick and choose what you want to use from VQ, Rob Lewis has basically said for months this staff doesn't want BB. He's at the bottom of their board and it's likely the only reason he's on there at all is because he's in state and CPA produces some talent, if he lived in Virginia he wouldn't even have an offer from this staff. When they're saying Williams (ranked in the 200+), Bruner (injury plagued ranked in the 140's) and Fulkerson (ranked in the 160's) are all higher on the board than BB, then use some common sense. It literally would take BB waiting until spring, and Tennessee missing on about 20 different recruits before Barnes recruited the kid himself and told him they want him at Tennessee.

This staff didn't try to keep him on the hook, the only thing they did was try not to completely drop him and ruin any relationships/connections.

Very mature response. How about, I apologize BTO, you didn't ridicule my opinion or really even disagree with me on this topic, I was mistaken.

If you've been following along I've been saying Fulkerson had a spot all along, while others thought he was holding a non-commitable offer, no? I questioned if they'd take both Fulk and Bruner, and even went as far as to say Williams/Bruner/Okogie were the only guys competing for a spot, and that given the first 2 have already OV's Bruner was currently odd man out.

Looks like a 50/50 deal with Williams


Sure he wasn't a priority a few weeks ago but surely you understand that if we lose out on many more of that board of 8 you boasted about it might have been nice to have been able to get back in the real mix for him?

Perhaps his staff completely misjudged the Oklahoma weeks visitors and got too conservative with the rest of the board. Bet they wish they kept playing hard instead of thinking they were going to coast in for a victory with that group.

I don't pay as close attention to BB recruiting, has anyone visited for during a Fb game? Usually the two sports will help each other out in that way.

Yes our big recruits visits are planned around big football games.

We had 4 on campus for the OU game and many(including me) thought we might get all 4.

That hasn't happened yet and it appears like we have very little momentum going forward

It's not looking. That's all I have to say. We need to get good classes or the team, and our fans will continue to be the Butt of all jokes.

You forgot to mention that Grant Williams is choosing between us and Yale is because his mom works for NASA and wants him to go to Yale due to academics.

I won't think losing a kid to a Yale is a disgrace.

It's a plenty fair decision IMO

Blackwell set up the visit to Tennessee just a couple days ago, why would he set up that visit if he had no interest in taking it? I completely get what you're saying, and how it looks, but again, you have to use some common sense and if you're gonna tout everything else VQ says then I don't think it's fair to leave their opinion out on this one.

I said what it would take IMO for Tennesse to really be interested in BB, it would have to be spring, and they would have to be to about the end of the road on options. For whatever multitude of reasons there are, this staff really is just not interested BB, much like they never extended an offer to Ado, he's just not a guy they're intrigued by or really want.

^which bothers me, I guess I can see Blackwell. But, ado? Yes, there may be an issue there, but apparently not big enough to scare off other schools, how do you not go after a shot blocker of his magnitude? For all we know he could be the next serge ibaka.

Ado's recruitment has taken a massive tumble, 14 months ago he was the hottest name in the country, a top 20 recruit, and pretty much had his choice of schools. Now, his best offer in Louisville is no longer recruiting him, his rankings is plummeting every time you hit refresh, and he's got his choice of about 3-4 high majors currently...it's very similar to Blackwell.
