Unless there's info on Braxton Blackwell on Volquest/Twitter, I can't find any updates about Blackwell. Blackwell has been visited by several head coaches from around the US.

Blackwell unofficially visited Tennessee on Oct 4th and Florida on Oct 18th. Then Billy Donovan visited him Feb 3rd.

I don't think that's true Dallas . Kids pick schools for several different reasons . Top recruits pick schools most people would consider "not as good" on a basketball level all the time .

I know,but it wouldn't look good on ut really if we land 1 or 2 top 100 players while there's an investigation going on. Hopefully when they decide the investigation is in the past and dt is reeling in the superstars and four year veterans

Exactly. Some want to be a big fish in a small pond. That's available at TN plus they have the facilities of the basketball elite.

Both being instate kids would lessen the suspicion. If they were from Washington and New York or something, it might not exactly pass the smell test, but both being from Tennessee shouldn't be cause for alarm in the highly unlikely event that both jump aboard.

As of a month or two ago Ado looked like a lot more of a long shot than Blackwell. I don't think we'll really know much about either situation until that NCAA cloud dissipates.

I do believe Tyndall and crew are going to bust their rear ends to try and get both of them though.

Why's that? He's visited Tennessee more than any school thus far.. 1 facility visit, 1 win over a top ranked team, and then got to see Tennessee battle Kentucky with no size whats so ever. I'd say that's something.

as long as we don't do anything wrong , I don't care what it looks like :) They are both in state kids though so shouldn't look bad at all

It's just something that came from his side of things. If we don't sign him it won't be from lack of effort by our staff, but it just seems a little doubtful atm. Good news is that there is a still a long way to go.

What came from his side though? I haven't seen any updates, and having 3 unofficial visits over other schools is a huge positive.

Would be okay with Gorjok Gak, and/or De'riante Jenkins (both posted about in recruiting news). Is there any video on Gak? I know Australia can produce good players.

Also, would it be possible to sign:
Romello White
Gorjok Gak
De'riante Jenkins
Braxton Blackwell
Jaylen Fisher

I'm out of the loop on how many scholorships we can offer.

Guys do we have threads on Brandon Walters, or Alex Hicks from Walters state? These guys are big time players, and there seems to be a lot of interest(multiple visits including to the game we played kentucky)in Alex Hicks as he is averaging 15ppg and 9rpg as a freshman for Walters state. He is going to play for a D-1 team immediately following this season as a sophomore. Then Brandon Walters has put up multiple games of of 20 points & 15 rebounds. He's near 6'11" 285lbs, and he's not an out of shape 285 like Woodson was.

So do these guys have threads:

Alex hicks 6-8 205lbs skilled big man
Brandon Walters 6-11 285lbs

I think our main target for a post player is Kimani Jackson New Mexico JC. I think we would be elated to get either Mulder or Outlaw. Neither are point guards but no way we would turn either of these players down. I don't think we get either one unfortunately. Definitely waiting to see who the point guard will be a lot of names really need a super player at that position with Josh graduating.

If we are going to sign 3 more , I would take Gray and the 2 guys from Walters State . BTO said we had cooled on Jackson after CDT saw him in person

I would love it if we took Hicks, and Walters from Walters state. Hicks is a 6-8 205 forward who has gaurd shooting skills, and Walters is a 6-11 285 center which is something we definitely need. I hope we land those two and Gray to end this recruiting cycle. If we got those guys here is what are recruiting cycle would look like.

Brandon Walters**** 6-11 285lbs PF
Shembari Phillips*** 6-4 185lbs SG
Admiral Schofield*** 6-5 220lbs SF
Rob Gray NR(juco) 6-1 170lbs CG(combo gaurd)
Hicks NR(juco) 6-8 205lbs SF/PF

That would cover all bases, and also this:

2 frosh(Phillips, and Phillips)
1 soph(Hicks)
2 Juniors(Gray, and Walters)

IMO that addresses all needs in this class, and adds some key pieces for the next few years. This is my recruiting wish list, because I know it'd be hard to get much better than this. I really hope this is the class we're able to get.

Someone mentioned that Walters 3 pt percentage was very high too . If we had him drawing the opposing teams C out of the lane , that would open it up big time for guys like Armani to drive

Yeah that's a very good point. I mean Armani showed what all he is capable of in the LSU game as a ball handler/small forward. That's where Armani needs to play if we get the necessary size next season!IMO Armani is definitely capable of averaging 15ppg 5rpg 5apg if he develops a better 3 point shot. I also believe that Robert Hubbs could easily average 12ppg and 5rpg and if punter averages 10-12ppg next year as well then we may have a much improved team. I'm very optimistic about those projections.

Just give me a true center and I'll be happy. A PG would be nice as well but we need at least one guy over 6'10"
