so 9/18 ended up at tennessee by my count.

9/16

I had forgetton about Polley son a quick google search shed some light on his commitment.

He visited Ucon on Labor Day weekend. Said he loved it and wasn't expecting to make such a quick decision. Decided to still visit Tenn the following week. Then pulled the trigger to Uconn.

Intereting that his quotes made it seem he was ready to commit on the visit but took his time for another week. Hopefully the same happens with Mann

If we can land Burns and Mann that puts Barnes at 5/12 with one going to the NBA. Not far from being acceptable imo.

Does Turner and Alexander not count?

Nevermind I see you didn't include that first class.
That's fair

Alexander wasn’t ranked and neither was turner after reclassifying. He’s just counting the last 3 years.

The first class was half Tyndall and half Barnes and he had just a few weeks to fill it.

I edited.

I was just thinking they took OVs so they should count but it's fair not to include those 2

Mann & Burns, fair or not, will shape a lot of opinions...land those 2 guys and the narrative that maybe this staff needed time to build relationships and put a winning product out there picks up a lot more steam as they look to secure a Top 15 class. Miss on both of those guys and the narrative that Barnes is really struggling to land higher ranked guys will only pick up more steam than it currently has.

I’m not saying either is right or wrong, just that I feel like those 2 guys will have a big impact on Tennessee’s recruiting image.

Another thing about this no pressure approach.....

If we are being selective then we need to be hitting. If we are recruiting one guy for a spot then we need to have the heat turned up. You can’t target one guy then tell the kid to keep looking around.

Yep.

Imo 50/50 is good enough but we aren't there yet

I think we should casting a little bit wider net and trying to go 50/50 but that's not their strategy to this point.

I don't disagree

I am intrigued by some of this talk. I was hoping you would know and answer my post about Pearl earlier. Did he wrap many guys up on their visits?

Not sure. I wasn't following hoops recruiting as closely then. Most of the Pearl tenure I was still a youngin raisin hell and watched all the games but wasn't plugged into the behind the scenes stuff. I listened to sports talk shows and watched the games. I didn't get on VQ til the Dooley era and started really following recruiting then.
