Lecque visited UT unofficially on Jan 6. May be worth monitoring if he does reclassify.

Bleed - you got any info on this one?

i believe he has been here a couple of times, if he reclassified I think we would definitely get involved, but I tend to think he is more likely to end up at a blue blood.

That was gonna be my next question. Who are his top schools and who has room? Specifically the tobacco road schools.

Fwiw. Little tidbit from Ramey.

"For what it’s worth, I would also expect this staff to continue looking for foreign players. Not sure if that applies to the 2018 class, but it does for future classes. This staff likes the work ethic of foreign players (Barnes has been bragging this week about Pons being in the gym everyday since the season ended)."

This sounds bad but adding those kinds of players works great for the 4&5 year system whereupon sometimes redshirt guys, look at how so many of these MM are successful, lots of times they’ve got some foreign guys. They typically know nobody from the states and so the appeal to transfer just isn’t there, they typically are grateful for the opportunity and what’s on campus is their family, and they don’t have family in their ear an hour down the road asking why aren’t you playing more. I’m not suggesting to lod the roster with those guys but sprinkling in 1 a class or 3/4 years isn’t a bad move imo.

Gonzaga and St. Mary's have built programs recruiting those very type playersn

Hopefully some of our fans realize that it’s not easy to recruit big time basketball players to Tennessee.

We can never close the deal it seems like.

We are likely to miss on our frosh targets.

Then we will be back to looking for a grad transfer.

I’m curious to see what they do over the next week, right now it would appear they are being extremely picky. They’ve been mentioned with Akinjo, potentially the most coveted PG on the market, and Justin Coleman, arguably one of the most highly regarded grad transfer PG’s.

We are in a good spot but we really need a frosh in this class.

Freshman PG or just freshman in general? I agree we need a freshman, I’ve been big on balancing the classes, but to me I would almost say a freshman 6’10”+ athletic big is more important than a freshman PG. I would probably say give me a grad transfer PG and freshman big if it’s one of each, ideally though I would take both as freshman.

No one is faulting him for looking for a good fit. The issue is the idea that and legit P5 school is going to bend over backwards to bow to a 5-9 PG's silly demand to be handed a starting spot.

Somebody will if they think he is good enough. He should go to who is willing to do it.

Both or either.

I’m just really disappointed we can’t get anyone in this class. Shouldn’t be this hard.

Sure. Someone will submit or convince him they will. Again, nothing wrong with that. But neither is there anything wrong with people who think that diva mentality is hilarious for a 5-9 PG to carry around.
