2019 early targets, new rivals rankings:

#2 James Wiseman
#6 Ashtan Hagans
#19 Jalen Lecque
#31 Josiah James
#39 Isaiah Stewart
#50 Marcus Watson
#77 DJ Burns
#106 Deuce Dean
#112 Kyle Sturdivant

Tennessee rumored to be in it seriously with Wiseman, Stewart, Watson and Burns.

Time for Barnes to sell them on being the next Myles Turner or Aldridge and close a high ranked guy.

I really wish Barnes would actually be putting in effort to recruit. Then maybe we could get on the radar of some good players.

Ehhh, think I'd leave turner out of the conversation. Didn't do so good under rick lol he flourished when he got in the NBA.

He is a big man that everyone agreed needed to develop. He is developing. He was a lottery pick that is in line for a big contract pretty soon. Its not like he was a second round pick. He was also the Big 12 Freshman of the year. I would say Barnes handled him pretty well.

Not what Texas fans say lol and from what I saw, he was pretty poorly handled. What the hell do I know though

Idk what their fans say. They might say that but I think they are wrong. I just don't think you can call conf FOTY and lottery pick as mishandling. He could barely run straight and had horrible stamina. That wasn't Barnes' fault.

Just find it weird how he went from a bench player to a starter in a year after leaving Texas. Some players Barnes strategy works with, it didn't turner.

A bench player who was FPOY? He was 5th on the team in minutes per game, making him sound like he was the 9th or 10th option is pretty inaccurate. Calipari only has 5 guys who start, does that mean all the other guys who don't start he did a bad job with?

He came off the bench most games. Which makes him a bench player.

Ranking top 5 in minutes played isn't what most would call a "bench player", even still though...you avoided the other part of my post. So the guys who don't start for UK but are still drafted 1st round are examples of a bad job by Calipari? I don't think so.

Here's one for you, Zach Collins came off the bench all year for the Zags and then was picked 10th overall...horrendous job by Mark Few, am I doing that right?

No.watch his games at Texas vs games in the NBA. He plays harder, and more aggressive. It was like he coasted at Texas.

Turner was put in a position that highlighted his weaknesses, not his strengths. He played only about 20 percent of his possessions as the long big man alongside the only true shooting forward on the roster, Jonathan Holmes. When Turner and Holmes shared the court up front, the Longhorns outscored their opponents by an extraordinary 26 points

Emmanuel Dowouna expected in weekend of the 22nd, has already visited Purdue and holds offers from Louisville, Memphis and UCONN among others.

Petrusev is slated to visit the last weekend of the month, Kentucky, Arizona and Kansas have all offered recently but right now his only scheduled visit is to Knoxville. Tennessee will try to close the deal on that one.

Looking to 2019 4 stars DJ Burns, Marcus Watson, Jason Jitoboh and Josiah James are all expected to visit over the next few weeks.
