Ranked 8th in minutes, 6th in rebounds and 7th in points...at best he was one of the last guys off the bench on a sub-500 C-USA team.

I didn't say he was having a great career. I said that he's had several productive games at WKU and that he was also injured. He needs to step it up considerably to ever draw any paycheck playing basketball somewhere like the Antarctic League.

Not much of one to be had...with Mitchell Robinson electing to return to WKU Jabari's role will only decline.

Jabari was progressing after sitting out for a year and then had the injury. He still has a year or two to go. He seemed like a hard worker and a fine young man. AuntieDee and JabbyCuz should be proud of him.

Western Kentucky. It's a possibility that TN plays WKU in the holiday tournament this year.

I believe that Tariq Owens' father or uncle posted here. He's at St. John's.

"Kasongor" posted here and claimed to be Ray Kasongo's brother... but no adult brother was mentioned in Ray's UT profile. He seems to be a family friend or related, but not necessarily as a brother with the same set of parents. Ray transferred to Iowa State and quit before he was eligible.

Willie Carmichael also transferred to WKU but was dismissed.

Darius Thompson transferred to Virginia after Martin quit. He's transferred again to WKU and I think he's eligible to play immediately.

Kwe Parker transferred to a small college or JUCO and should be immediately eligible to play.

Shembari Phillips transferred to GA Tech and has to sit out this coming year.

Thompson transferred as a graduate transfer? I thought he was playing decent minutes at UVA. But I didn't think he was playing PG.

I think he is a grad transfer. He bulked up quite a bit and when I saw a few minutes of UVa like he was in the paint a lot. I think that he was still playing some guard as well, but it seemed as though he was inside more than on the perimeter.

Yes they should, he's going to get a college degree, which he'll need to find a job.

He's also about 6'8" and runs the floor. If he stays injury free the final chapter of his basketball career may not have been written. I assumes that he gets a do over for his first year if he pursues it since he broke his foot. I think that he has 2 years left to play.

I think your memory of Jabari is fuzzy. He is not even in Grant's league.

I don't think he said he was...I tend to wish he had stayed, just to see what kind of impact he would have actually had, and how he would have developed here. I know talent is very important, but I also believe that effort and energy is underrated.

Thanks TGO. Wow. Sounds like WKU is UT junior varsity now.

Rivals updated rankings:

#77 Filip Petrusev
#101 Amanze Ngumezi
NR Emmanuel Dowuona

In an article by Rivals when asked about guys in the top 150 who could still make big moves Eric Bossi mentioned Amanze Ngumezi and Corey Evans mentioned Filip Petrusev...they mentioned both as guys who could end up top 50 with solid seasons.

a little more info on Petrusev, I re-upped my VQ subscription tonight as we head into football season so found some more info.

In summary...Oliver went to watch world games and see Petrusev first hand, Vols have been heavy on him ever since. He is at the top of the wish list for the Vols and they feel he's going to make an official visit, however competition for him is heating up, Arizona and Kentucky offered this past week. He's a guy on the NBA radar already and someone who now that he's at Montverde is going to blow up.

Some other hoops recruiting notes from VQ...

Looking ahead to the 2019 class this staff is definitely looking to pick things up. DJ Burns who is widely considered a top 75 recruit is very high on the Vols and unofficially visiting September 30th, an early commitment is very possible. Marcus Watson another top 100 recruit who has already unofficially visited the Vols is very high on Tennessee as well. That still leaves James Weisman out there who Vols are in deep with and also top 40 recruit Isaiah Stewart from NY who's good friends with Tennessee commit Davonte Gaines.

Any of those guys would be great grabs. Steward being the one I want the most.

2019 early targets, new rivals rankings:

#2 James Wiseman
#6 Ashtan Hagans
#19 Jalen Lecque
#31 Josiah James
#39 Isaiah Stewart
#50 Marcus Watson
#77 DJ Burns
#106 Deuce Dean
#112 Kyle Sturdivant

Tennessee rumored to be in it seriously with Wiseman, Stewart, Watson and Burns.
