They weren't. He should just go ahead and retire if he can't do better than this.

LSU won 19 games with probably the worst coach in the SEC because they had talent.
We've evidently got a coach that believes he doesn't need it.
Like I said. If you're ok with sub 500 seasons, that's what we're guaranteed unless something changes.

Me too, but I want underrated 3 stars. Guys like Punter, Richardson, and so fourth. Johnson is neither. He's just not. He's more suited for the lower tier teams like Eku, wku, etsu,etc.

I'd rather TN builds slowly with high character guys than immediately with the crap that was happening around many of the thugs that Pearl brought in while selling out UT.

BTW, what ever happened to Ramar... was he ever charged with murder? Serious question.

Fwiw VQ has said its not really someone to pay attention to, he's a guy who's likely reclassifying to 2018 so maybe down the road, but he's not a 2017 target as of now.

VQ did say the big 4 are Uyaelunmo, Huffman, Gray and Stokes...which Tennessee is in a good spot to receive an official from all 4 currently. The staff ideally takes 1 of Uyaelunmo/Huffman and one of Stokes/Gray and sticks with that for the fall.

Someone mentioned Ramar a while back. forget what they said happened with him.
Speaking of Pearl. He's got a top 5 class so far.
OK. We've established that you're ok with losing for a while. Barnes is ok with losing to prove a point. You should enjoy his tenure. short though it might be.

Pearl lost more in year 2 at Auburn than he did in year one. He needs Forbes, Shay, and Tony Jones back. Junior is a douchenozzle and I don't think his top 5 class pans out. He might sign them but how many points and rebounds do they miss while in jail?

In contrast, our high attitude guys will be watching the post season in team prayer meetings.
got to be some middle ground somewhere. that means landing some high talent guys with great attitudes.
Don't think talent = thug.

Talent does equal thug quite often when taking the high star leftovers after Duke, UNC, Kansas, UConn, 'Cuse, etc. pick off the best considering all prospect criteria for evaluation.

Pearl's MO is to collect a disproportionate amount of thugs. I'd rather take CRB's approach while TN's dumpster fire is still smoldering.
