Rivals interview with Lance Thomas:

The product of Norcross (Ga.) High possesses a rare combination of size and skill at 6-foot-10, and he’s starting to become a more productive player. Now, he's just got to get more consistent with his game.

USC, Miami, Florida, Tennessee, Ole and Clemson have all been heavily involved in his recruitment and extended scholarship offers. Duke and Georgia Tech have been monitoring his progress and Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim recently reached out.

Last weekend, Thomas took an unofficial visit to Ole Miss and he plans to hit Florida next week.

Thomas broke down some of the programs that are involved.

“(Assistant coach Nate James) just said he needs to see more production from me around the rim and see me scoring more," said Thomas about Duke. "He said they are going to be watching me this summer.”

With Florida, there's a sense of familiarity.

“It’s an up and coming program," said Thomas. "They play just like we do at Norcross, so that’s a good fit.”

Miami has made an impression with their coaching.

“Coach Larranaga is really smart and he’s a really good coach," said Thomas. "I really like him and they have a good program.”

Though USC is all the way across the country, Thomas likes the style of play.

“They are in the Pac-12 and I really like their offense. They play an open offense, and I think that’s a good a fit for me.”

At Tennessee, they have to add bigs in this class and Rick Barnes has told Thomas that he's exactly what they need.

"Coach Barnes likes skilled bigs and I'm a skilled big I believe."

With many options to choose from, Thomas declined to name a leader and said that he hopes to cut things down to a top five after the month of July.

#117 Abu Kigab
#112 Lance Thomas

Couple things...no Victor Uyaelunmo is a bit of an eye catcher, he had previously been top 100 iirc by rivals, that's a big drop. Rivals mentioned Huffman as a guy they really like but having only seen him once they wanted to hold off before including him in the rankings, sounds like just a matter of time before he cracks the lists. Ibrahim Doumbia and Lance Thomas both continue their climbs, add in Huffman who is doing the same and another big in Uyaelunmo and you've got to like the guys Barnes seems to be targeting for the fall.

If the bball recruiting services parallel the football, it could be a good thing and mean VU has serious interest in UT. He might even be a silent.

I kid, of course. Mostly

Justin Young Tweet: Isaiah Stokes looks like a whole new player this yr. In good shape. Punishing frame. God bless mom Stokes for grocery bill over the years.

Isaiah Stokes, Brandon Huffman, Lance Thomas, Victor Uyaelunmo, Ibrahim Doumbia, Raiquan Gray, Tyler Polley...staff has done a tremendous job ID'ing guys early and keeping Tennessee involved, now they gotta land em'.

Wasn't there some bad blood with Jarnell when he left? I remember something about him talking about the fans. Was that made up, or has it been patched up?

Charlotte, Davidson & Tennessee on hand to see 6'7 '18 Hunter Tyson #SymmerHavoc
Has 16 at half

I'm glad we're building relationships and every thing, but damn, can we work on next years class? I mean, has a college ever went a year without signing anybody? I know it's kinda early, but we usually have atleast one either close to committing, or done committed.

Had none at this time last year

We just signed Bowden in what, April, it has been 3 months?

He moved way up in ESPN's recent update, he's had a great showing at the Peach Jam so far, he may be on the move.

Been around plenty long enough to not buy into the hype of rankings changing much either way

His weight has been a issue it seems and that makes me think he is a tad more of a risk that the others. I would rather have them.
