I don't know which side of the fire Phil argument that this supports, but here is some info:

There are 119 Division I-A football teams. Including Tennessee, there are 36 teams (30.25%) that have won at least 9 games this year.

Also, there are 25 teams (21.01%) that won at least 10 games this year.

I do feel that Fulmer does not deserve any kind of a raise for a 9 win season, when over 30% of Division I-A football won 9 games or more. To me, a raise would show that Mike Hamilton is happy with just having an average football team.

Last I checked, on a strictly math scale, being in the 21st-30th percent isn't average, but whatever floats your boat.

agreed with the elite, but 1-33% is above the average from a math point of view

Wow!! Are we happy with winning just 9 games? I would like to point out that the only reason we have 9 wins is because we added the extra game in the schedule. Otherwise, it would be an 8 win season. It almost was anyway when we came close to losing to AIR FREAKIN' FORCE!!!

OK if our team is in the top 30% then what is PF's salary percentage? If he is top 5 salary then I expect top 5 team.

No. Being in the 33rd percentile means you are better than 33%. You have it backwards. If you scored in the 30th percentile on the LSAT you wouldn't get into law school. If you were in the 99th percentile, you'd be headed to Harvard.

You misused the word percentile.

You know alot of people forget this when discussing the season and I'm glad you brought it up. If this any other season before now we don't play one of the cupcake non conference teams and are 8-4.

you can apply the cupcake logic to every other team as well. Every team finishes with 1 less win.

Yes that's true but I'm talking about people taking this year and comparing it to past years. I'm comparing Tennessee to Tennessee, I could care less about other teams.

We would finish 8-3 in the regular season, and as I assume you assume we lose the bowl game, then 8-4.

thats where UT will probalby finish the season ranked, between 26 and 36.

additionally, the talent on your roster is undoubtably in the top-10 in the nation. there are other teams that have the same number... if not more... wins than UT that have far inferior talent. combine that with a coach with high salary and a mediocre year and perennial player legal problems.... yikes.

phil needs to go. he's needed to go for quite some time.

I think assuming a Bowl loss has become the norm around these parts. So yes, an 8-3 regular season and an uninspired lackluster unprepared loss in a bowl game.
