Hey Guys,

Ok, I admit it...I'm a seasonal Volnation guy; I disappear in the off season and suddenly reappear a few days before football kicks off. But it's always a blast to check back in & hang with you guys for the games..glad to be back!

So here's my topic: I think it's fair to say that, at a steady pace since the turn of the century or so, Neyland has lost the intimidating edge it once had. The feeling has kind of set in that we are just as likely to lose a home game as win. In fact, there have been stretches over the past seasons when I've been more confident playing big games on the road than at home.

I think last year in CDD's 1st season, we went 4-4 at home, albeit with a tough home schedule and just a tough season of circumstances altogether.

So is this the year we start - just a little bit - to reclaim Neyland as a place opponents fear instead of viewing as a near bye week? :peace2:

I'm thinking BigAl and Peyton (OP) need to coordinate threads. /sc

Rest assured we have the memo: raise hell and win. The later makes the former easier to achieve.

When the administration makes the calculated decision to trade capacity for cash, this is what happens. Taking out the old seats to add all these high-dollar box and club seats has a definite impact. The people that can afford them are not typically the folks who make a lot of noise or stand most of the game. They like to sit...under a fan...with a drink...in a comfy chair and watch the game. Will it ever be like it was? Probably not. Not unless there are more student seats allocated. But if that is done, the revenue goes down and we know the administration won't support that.

Oh yes, don't forget the price of and sheer number of season tickets. Those cats aren't loud either.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. :clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping:

Neyland is less intimidating because we haven't been very good. It's always pretty loud if we're in a game. Once we start winning again it'll come back.
