I'm sure many of you have realized how many starters we're losing after 2013. How well have we recruited to replace these guys in 2014?
Tyler Bray--think we'll be okay at QB in 2014.
Raijon Neal--Could really use a premier tailback in the 2013 class who could be ready to take the baton from Neal and go. Should have plenty of backups. I'm crossing my fingers that we will be better at RB in 2014 than in 2012.
Stone, Fulton, James, and possibly Tiny--I'm sure Crowder and Jackson will be ready. I see a drop-off on the OL in 2014, especially at tackle if we lose Tiny, too. Too much starting experience gone.
C. Patterson--I think Hunter leaves after 2012. If Cordarelle lives up to expectations, I don't think we can replace him. However, getting Jatavius Stewart would make me feel a lot better. Will have more WR's with experience in 2014 than we do this year. Should be some talent in the mix, as well. I think we'll be okay at WR in 2014..
Sentimore, McCullers, Couch, Walls, Hood--I'd feel a lot better if we sign Toby Johnson and Rod Crayton in 2013 to go along with Carr and Bradley. More than likely we see a drop-off after losing this many important players on the DL.
Jacques Smith, (and A.J. Johnson could leave early)--Several backups will also graduate--Sapp, Fugate, King, Crump, and Probst. Have to trust the coaches that the guys we've got coming in 2013 will be ready to play in 2014. And that Bynum and Lewis are good. I do see a drop-off in 2014 at linebacker if Johnson leaves. Sure would like to get Carl Lawson to put at jack, but I'm not holding out hope.
Brewer, Gordon, Moore--If we sign Miles, Reeves-Maybin, and Bell in 2013 and put them with Randolph, McNeil, and Thomas, I don't see a drop-off at safety.
Michael Palardy--If he is good his last two years here, we could miss him in 2014. Otherwise, we may not.
That's a lot of talent and experience to replace. Hopefully, we can fill those gaps with people better in a few cases, and nearly as good in most others. We won't lose any starters at TE and CB after 2013, but we desperately need some good players at those positions.
