Rear View Mirrors for A. Foster

If you think about it, the record is what about 3,000 yards? I think Foster has averaged like 67 yards a game in his career so if you look at it like that, because he started as a freshamn and has recieved the bulk of the carries since, it makes since to me that he is going to break it barring injury. However, you guys are right, Arian, while a nice back, does not come to my mind when discussing great UT backs...

I like Foster but he shoudn't have looked back, The reason we lost is because ''All first round draft pick'' [Ainge] is a choker. Arian is a good back, put the blame where it deserves to be.

This thread is not about Ainge...Go to an Ainge Thread.. You can always blame the QB for everything... or the Coaching Staff this is not putting Blame on Foster for the Losses either...Grow up it is an evaluation of what is going on with him. (foster)

Creer has great talent and Vereen looks good in practice.

And to be fair, talents like Henry and Lewis happen every so often. Tennessee just had an amazing stretch of great RBs.

Actually I completely forgot about Creer my mistake. Hardesty probably should have been a good one were it not for the constant injuries. And yes, we were very spoiled.

Without Foster this season would have been a lot worse than it was.

Period.

Agreed....This is not a get rid of Foster thread, this is a what is going on with Foster Thread and why?? He is a good back but not a great Back and why do we run him around the corners and what is up with the jukes. Given the Offensive Line may not be up to the standards either but surely have the Coaching staff to figure that out and work it to our advantage go with the strengths versus weaknesses...

I'd say an 1,100 yard season is a testament to the OL, the staff and Foster.

True that Foster is not the best running back we have had, but he is a good one and he still has one year left. What excites me about him is he seems to have put the fumbling problems behind him. He has not fumbled since South Carolina and that was recovered by UT.

Bringing up all these names, had me thinking of these videos.

YouTube - UF vs. UT 2001...The Run
YouTube - Stephens 35yrd TD 2001 UF vs. UT

Great memories!

As for Foster, he has been really good this year. Him looking back does seem to be a problem, which is usually fixed at the High School level, so I'm not sure why he is still doing that in College Football. I'm not gonna complain about him juking, considering he does make guys miss on occasion. Creer's future looks bright though.

And other RB's don't play cupcakes?

Right.

no but those were some of his biggest games if I remember correctly. Against Florida and LSU and others he didn't really do much on the ground. He was always a very good receiver. I wasn't trying to say he's bad or anything...just saying he didn't really run the ball too well on good teams. Stephens and Henry used to run for 200 on Florida and the likes.

And Henry, Lewis and Stephens didn't feast on weak competition too?

I do not know this but compare 200 yard games of those three to Foster.... Over the same number of games. Better yet. Webb and Cobb in the same backfield 100 yd games each...
