I think we're overestimating the impact he will have on offense. I do believe he will be a great player for us on special teams though. RDA and Berry will be hard to contend with as returners.
Who was the third back last season? How much did play?
Think that's the point...they would've liked to have Justin Pickett/Darrell Scott function seamlessly when Hurd and Lane were dinged up...they didn't. And it limited the offense. We'd like a steady diet of Hurd and Kamara, but there will be plenty of occasions (non-injury related) where both will be on the sideline. Great teams have the third and fourth backs that allow them to run base plays...that's our goal.

And Kamara is much more talented than Lane.
I think Derrell Scott is more talented than RDA too.
To me, he's Devrin Young. Small, fast, plays in games where the team has a lead.
There's too much talent for RDA to play now.
Name me a top program that only ran two running backs (important minutes wise) the ENTIRE season...doesn't happen. Bama primarily used Derrick Henry and TJ Yeldon but needed a significant amount of Kenyan Drake last year. I think you're hung up on the Devrin Young comparison...maybe Abernathy is closer to Warrick Dunn in ability? :dunno: Prolly not but there are plenty of players in college football history (Jacquizz Rodgers?) that buck your stereotype. I'm not even advocating him being the 3rd running back but it's extremely possible that he contributes more than the garbage time you're consigning him to...and it would be a good thing, so don't stock up on razor blades.![]()

We did.
USC, Auburn, OSU, off the top of my head.
RDA is not at all similar to the RB's you named.
Kamara and Hurd will get 15+ each a game , Dobbs will get 10+ a game, Von and Pig will get touches.
Where does he fit?
40+ runs per game? oof. hope we get the tempo up so we can get north of 70 plays a game then.
