Rawane Ndiaye Reportedly commits

Ndiaye=Yemi

If it turns out its a swap, I'm fine with it...if it turns out this is Stokes replacement I'm really gonna lose a lot of faith.

It wont turn out to be a big deal if Stokes stays and everyone stays healthy...The thing that worries me is that ZO doesnt seem to have much of a plan when it comes to recruiting....almost like he is throwing darts at a dart board....I fully expect Stokes to be gone after next season(never expected him to be a four yr player) and if he does....we are left with NDiaye and if we are lucky good quality freshman in the post in 14-15. That is poor planning and has me concerned.

Reese, Chievous, Moore, Edwards, Throw in Landry and the Ndiaye and the Vols are ready for the big boys.

Moore was a freshman. Reese was a freshman. Chievous was a freshman. All did well in limited time. If you can't see their potential then that's your problem, not mine. I'm not saying they'll all be All-SEC but there is potential there for them to be really good contributers next year and the year after that. Edwards was not as good as we thought and I'm not going to judge Landry and Ndiaye before I've seen them play.

Considering we beat Florida and Kentucky with those guys I'd say we can play with the big boys with that roster.

I think we would all feel better if we were competing with better teams for these players.

Still trying to understand the D1 recruitment of a guy that averaged 2.5 points and 3.5 rebounds during 13 games. Yes he is 6'11", but those numbers wouldn't justify recruitment at UK,UNC,Duke or even Florida. This kid came out of Raleigh,NC and the tobacco road schools didn't offer him. Why are we recruiting this guy? Nobody else finds this odd?

How dare you question anything that CCM and his staff are doing in season and in recruiting! Don't you know that he has won........ well he has won nothing of import but you are not a true Vol fan for questioning this. This program was in the cellar when CCM took over - never mind the fact the the previous coaching regime went to 6 straight AA tourneys! Geez......

Just Kidding....

If I was him, I'd be looking for a JUCO big to bring in along with the freshman bigs next year...someone who's played and is physically ready.

Not what I said, he was saying something we should've been doing and sounded very adamant about it, so I figured it was something he had addressed before.

I haven't seen anyone really saying within the last 2-3 months that we should be trying to add a big, now all of a sudden everyone is saying we should've been adding a big.

That is exactly what you implied in your post wherein you referenced that he made posts about it in last few months.

Or why else say it???

This is what cracks me up, I keep seeing the we can't play with the big boy posts, but yet we have done well against the "big boys". It actually is the "little boys" (UGA, AP, COC, Oakland) that have caused us to miss the dance, not the big boys.

That happens alot in conference and has every since I have been watching UT basketball but we are what our final record says we are and thats not good enough.

Heck even during the Wade Houston era we beat Kentucky and LSU with Shaq. I was at that game and still laugh at gannon goodson smacking the floor challenging Shaq. LOL

Haha I wish I'd have seen that

I guess.

But take a look at how they did on the floor. We won games this year because of Chievous. Armani provided good energy. Reese showed some ability to knock down a 3. Edwards was the only one that I thought underperformed.

Do they have work to do to improve? Yes. That's how most freshman are. I'm not sure what you are expecting from them. Saying that they are all terrible pick ups at this point is a little over the top imo. (last sentence was directed more at the original post I responded to)

First, I am a supporter of CCM, but this is a head scratcher to me. The difficult part is if the evaluation was something spectacular and Ndiaye becomes the second coming of Anthony Davis or somebody of high caliber, we won't know it until the Fall. This leaves a bad perception of the faith fans have in Cuonzo for several months. I feel perception has a lot to do with the pressure an AD may have to make changes. I truly hope Ndiaye works out.

Is there even any official word that Yemi is leaving?

Cant say i understand trading a project that's at least been in system for 2 years for another project.

Uh oh. Those threads from Chris are always epic.

I'm willing to give the kid a chance before I pass judgment. Cuonzo knows what kinds of players are needed to compete in the SEC. I'm going to trust him until I see the kid play.

Yeah, I was gonna say that, but it's hard to put a spin on it where you can really pat Martin on the back...

Yeah, this one is a head scratcher. Hopefully he works out. I'm not ready to fire him over one recruit, though.

The only place where I have seen this news is here on VN. Is there a link to anything more credible? Not trying to be a jerk but this is the same website that anointed Gruden the football coach after all.

Hey!.... Gruden is coming in 2016. Book it!!!

Absolutely. However, I will say that I'm going to get pessimistic really quick if Stokes ends up leaving. But it will be really awesome if we can still have a good season without him; however, I see more reason to be doubtful if he does go pro.

I don't think he's going. Plus, with the 4 guard lineup we ran this year I will be shocked if Ndiaye sees the floor at all. I would imagine if Stokes had to come out we would see Maymon at the 5 and Davis at the 4.
