He was involved in a team brawl in which 6 players from both teams and even the coach were suspended for various periods of time.
He wasn't buried. He started the season injured in a walking boot and played himself into shape and into playing time. then got a 2 game suspension after a couple of double digit rebounding games.
You'd think he was replacing Stokes.

Not quite accurate. His only double-digit rebounding game came on Dec. 14 against a horrible team (Clinton CC). Indian Hills led by 39 points at the half and went on to win by 58. But Ndiaye really didn't do squat after mid-December, gathering more fouls than rebounds in his last 8 games combined before being suspended at the end of the season.

Is the heating up of speculation about stokes leaving due to only the picture tweet of the team today that he wasn't in???

Or more?


If that's all then he could have been anywhere. There are plenty of reasons for him not being there than him being a goner. I.e. class/other academic issues/trainer/compliance many different reason why a player might be missing from a workout this time of year.

Kinda how I'm looking at it. If Stokes leaves, I'm not expecting an NCAA bid. That means Martin will probably have to go. Shame how it hinges on a decision if it works out that way.

So do I understand correctly that we'll know what Stokes is doing by tomorrow night?

The way I understand he has till the 28th, lewis said tomorrow though so maybe I'm wrong.

This is utterly ridiculous!!! Are you freakin' kidding me ?!!! We gave a scholly to a guy averaging 2 pts an 2 rebs a game ? For crying out loud, is Cuonzo trying to lose his job!!!

We need to make a change before Martin really hamstrings this program with more NAIA caliber recruits.

He averaged 3.5 rebounds per game playing 7 minutes? That's awesome.

From Quinn's article....
While the NCAA’s early entry withdrawal date is April 16, the NBA’s deadline to declare doesn’t fall until April 28. Thus, whether a player pulls his name out of the draft by April 16 or doesn’t declare at all during the NCAA’s mandated time frame, he can still enter the draft as long as he does so before the 28th.

So in other words, if he declares before April 16th, he has to remove name by the 16th to remain eligible for NCAA. However, he can still declare after the 16th as long as he does it before the 28th.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the pic was of practice with Yemi present and Stokes absent. All we have at this point is assumptions. We are 2 over and assuming that Landry is one that will not show up. Yemi was (hopefully) rumored as the other possibility of not being here next year. Stokes is on the fence of possibly going into the draft. With Yemi in the pic, it gives the appearance that he might still with the team and questions about Stokes going looks like it could be a possibility. With the addition of this new JV guy, one would think the only reason we take him is because we are losing a big man...either Stokes or Yemi. One was at practice, the other wasn't.

Curious -- when is the last day for "evaluations" for ALL prospects?

And what happens once someone declares after the NCAA withdraw date? What's the "process"?

I think it's safe to say after next year we will be back to Buzz Peterson level. I hope Dave Hart is making a list. I like Cuonzo but I have completely lost faith in him as a coach.

This is probably the worst commit I've seen any team past a mid-major take. Then again, Landry falls on that same level too.

I'm willing to give the kid a chance before I pass judgment. Cuonzo knows what kinds of players are needed to compete in the SEC. I'm going to trust him until I see the kid play.
