Galactic is coming out with a new hip-hop album sometime soon which is basically their live band with a bunch of MCs.

from their myspace:

FROM THE CORNER TO THE BLOCK

Galactic's new recording "From The Corner To The Block" - due August 21 on Anti - is available for pre-order now. The record features an array of today's most innovative MC's, including The Coup's Boots Riley, Lyrics Born, Digable Planets' Ladybug Mecca, N.O.'s own Juvenile, Jurassic 5's Chali 2na, Mr. Lif and Gift of Gab from Blackalicious. The new album will also feature unique collaborative efforts with New Orleans artists Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Soul Rebels Brass Band and Trombone Shorty. Songs from the album were debuted as part of a special performance at this year's Bonnaroo festival. The record's title track, a collaboration of Galactic with Juvenile and Soul Rebels Brass Band, is available now through iTunes.

i highly recomend this new album when it comes out.

Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force: Planet Rock
Kanye West: College Dropout, Late Regestration

That's all I want to type. There is a little of everything right there. Some of the best Rap/Hip-Hop albums ever.

I'd list some DJ Screw or more Texas Rappers, but I think it's safe to say it's not your style of rap. Also, download "I Feel Like Dying" & "La La La" by Lil Wayne. Hope that helps, that's most of the albums I own.

I am also a big Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Common fan.
Yeah. C'mon Kirby, how could you have a list like that without Black Star?

I'm always down for a little underground. Those three, and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien. Black Star, Del, Hieroglyphics, Souls Of Mischief, etc.

As far as mainstream goes, T.I.'s new album is just okay. I didn't like Kingdom Come by Jay-Z at first but it's starting to grow on me. Epiphany by T-Pain is decent if you like potty-mouth stuff.

Bein' a west coast homer and all, I also have a lot of Mistah F.A.B., Keak Da Sneak and Federation playing.

Black Star.. couldn't ever get into Talib Kweli or Mos Def so that's one of the reasons. It's funky hip-hop.. clean, but just not my style at all. :dunno:

I haven't heard it personally but some coworkers have said the new Bone album Strength & Loyalty is pretty good.

If you haven't ever listened to the Hustle & Flow Soundtrack, get it because its good.

Not Rap, but the new White Stripes album is good as well.
