So wait - you're saying you think a guy in the top 5 can't be the number 1 guy in the country? That seems silly. You're saying he can only possibly be rated 2-5.

I think you can make that kind of statement if there's a clear-cut #1 guy...for instance, you could make an argument that Oscar De La Hoya, Travis Simms or Sergeii Dzindziruk are all among the top 5 super welterweights in the world...but you really couldn't argue that any of them are #1 over Floyd Mayweather.

I see your point however take last year for example. Calvin Johnson was the best wr in the nation period. So if you are doing a list of that top 5, there is no way 2-5 would be better than him.

Or say Jordan during his prime with the Bulls. If you named the top five players in say 1992 it would be Jordan number 1 and then you could have a pick 'em for 2-5.

Or Tiger Woods with golf. I think a guy can be "top 5" without being considered number 1, if there is a clear cut number 1.

The Calvin thing services your point very well, and I'm not arguing your point. But I'm pretty sure Meach had better numbers. Everyone all year long last year raved about Calvin, but honestly I think the raves were more about the skill set he brought to the table than the actual numbers he put on the table.

Not really on topic, but why not butt in. Its a slow day...

I see what your saying but Meach's numbers wouldn't have been as good either if he had Reggie Ball throwing him the ball. Pretty similiar stats for their final year but Johnson had the better career.

Johnson's stats
Stat Overview Receiving
YEAR REC YDS AVG LNG TD
2004 48 837 17.4 51 7
2005 54 888 16.4 59 6
2006 76 1202 15.8 66 15

Meachem's stats
YEAR REC YDS AVG LNG TD
2004 25 459 18.4 53 4
2005 29 383 13.2 50 2
2006 71 1298 18.3 84 11

Meach had 96 more yards but johnson had 4 more td's.

Good to see the actual numbers...
I still don't think Calvin really deserves the about ten million dollar difference in paycheck he'll get as opposed to Robert, but there is plenty of time for one or the other to make me look like an idiot....

Meach is in a great position to succeed with Brees, Colston, Bush and McCallister so hopefully he will have a great career!!

I actually agree with him on that one though. Succoup is really good . . . even if he does have issues getting kicks in the air against Florida.

You're a homer even down to the kicker! That's commitment.

I guess you have never seen Succop kick. Last year as a sophmore he made all of his kicks except for 3 that were blocked, one in the vandy game, and one in the houston game. He has one of the strongest and most dependable legs in the SEC. Dont hate on my opinion when you dont know what you're talkin about.

has it ever occured to you that maybe he had 3 kicks blocked because he doesn't have a very good leg and therefore his kicks are low? 3 blocked kicks is a lot.

Actually, I think Succop is an amazing kicker. And as always, I know more than you about pretty much everything involved in college football. Succop is good.

But you are a homer, and I'll take every opportunity, regardless if you're right or wrong, to make fun of you. :)
