You can't honestly tell me Fulmer is above Meyer, Saban, Richt, or even Tuberville.
1. Nick Saban- I think he's easily the best coach in the group, but he's also right at the top of the list as a recruiter.
2. Steve Spurrier- what he did at Florida was excellent... if he can win an SEC title at South Carolina, put him at the top of the list.
3. Mark Richt- game-day coaching has been a bit questionable lately, but his preparation and recruiting are right at the top. Georgia will be a power as long as he is there.
4. Urban Meyer- everywhere he has gone, he has won, and should probably get used to it as long as he's in the talent pool that is the state of Florida.
5. Phil Fulmer- only his recruiting and '98 national title give him the nod over Tubberville. game-day coaching and decisions are very questionable and without Cutcliffe, the program went continually downhill. Hasn't even went to the BCS since '99.
6. Tommy Tubberville- continues to bring in top talent and always has his team ready to play. coaching decisions seem to be on the money every game, even with the riverboat gambler attitude.
7. Bobby Johnson- every year, has a team that shouldn't even be on the same field as other SEC teams competitive and every once in a while pulls an upset. Very good coach.
8. Les Miles- teams seem to be very undisciplined and he has a tendency to get lost in the games, but no questioning his record since he's been there.
9. Houston Nutt- not sure how much longer he'll be at Arkansas with the AD changes and controversy, but did what his team was capable of last year, and getting the type of RBs he has there is a credit to his recruiting.
10. Rich Brooks- had a great season last year with a mediocre team.. has to continue the upward trend to keep his job.
11. Sylvester Croom- has had nothing to work with since he's been in Starkville, and still found a way to win a couple games he shouldn't have. team was competitive last year despite record.
12. Ed Orgeron- easily the worst coach in the league.. team was above average last year and underachieved thanks to his poor coaching. good recruiter but horrible coach.
