Good job on backing that post up. :eek:k:

I've come to expect nothing less from most of VolNation at this point though.

Got some good posters here, but people like you out weigh those like 3 to 1.

If you disagree with me, actually try proving me wrong. It only shows me that you have an extreme lack of knowledge when you have to resort to saying " clown " then moving on.

I appreciate Tee's contributions as much as the next guy but you do not want to look up what Tee, or the UT offense as a whole for that matter, accomplished in that game where "Tee beat FL". Seriously, knowing how utterly abysmal the offense was might really mess with your fantasy.

1. Randy Sanders
2. Steve Alatorre
3. Burney Veasey
4. Nick Stephens
5. Joey Matthews

Honorable mention Jeff Olszewski, Sterling Hinton, A.J. Suggs, and Jim Bob Cooter.

This is a disgrace. You left out Bo Hardegree. It's because he decided to play tennis his senior year isn't it?

Yeah because the championship couldn't be credited to that stellar D. I don't think Tee is in the top 5 personally. Sure he won a championship and had a good year but he's not one of the greats.

Also, it wasn't the same team. They had another year to grow and they lost a few players.

1) Peyton
2) Heath Shuler
3) Tony Robinson
4) Andy Kelly
5) Casey Clausen

I beleive the NC was won with a 4th qtr drive that involved a bomb to peerless. So he was just as much part of that NC as anyone on the D.

Yea, your posts just ooze intelligence. Maybe you should go back and look at the UF games that Manning played in versus the ones Tee played in.

In the years Manning played, UF scored 31, 63, 35, and 31 (I think).

In Tee's win, UF scored 17 in overtime. So, you do the math. Oh, and Manning had some terrible games against UF; in the '96 game, he only threw for 499 yards. I'm sure Tee would have done much better.

After throwing 4 picks in the first half...

But, I am in agreement...

1a. Holloway
1b. Manning
2a. Martin
2b. Robinson
2c. Shuler

Peyton is great in the NFL but Tee Martin is #1 because he beat Florida and won a National Championship.

1.Mr.Tee Martin (waited so long for a n/c and Tee delivered)

2.Peyton Manning
3.Tony Robinson (until Bama traditional dirty hit put him down)
4.Heath Shuler
5.Jimmy Streater(sp) (Mr. Excitement)

Honorable mention and fun to watch;

Teams win championships, not players.

As for Tee and FL you do know that Tee was 7 of 20 for 64 yards in that game, right? In fact the whole Off was well under 250yds.

The magic that night was on the other side of the ball.

Some would go as far as, Defense Wins Championships. Spurrier never won it all until Stoops built a defense to go with their offense.

Tee
Manning
Robinson
Shuler
Clausen/Ainge

Why did Robinson throw his life away?? He was a freak of nature. The guy could roll to his left and throw across his body like throwing darts. Kelly was good, but he threw it up for grabs way too often.

Agree. Al Wilson't three fumbles, Jeff Hall Kicking, Cheerleaders did make some good catches in that game though.

He is a vastly superior quarterback who was expected to beat Florida by himself. I hate hypothetical situations, but I'd wager if UT came into Peyton's Florida games with the same strategy they had in 1998 with Tee, Peyton would be in the discussion for best college QB in history on any team. He is certainly among the best in NFL history. Those 90s Vol teams should have pounded the Gators into the ground. Why didn't they? Spurrier >>>>>>> Fulmer.

Spurrier's admitted this.

He said Tennessee could dominate them running the ball but they let Peyton throw it over and over again.

i think its funny everyone is tlking bout how Tee beat Florida, kind of like Peyton did nothing while he was there. Didn't he end the streak to Bama?

This looks like an accurate list to me. The people arguing that Tee Martin should be #1 or #2 are ridiculous.

People can look at stat sheets and make assumptions, but Martin was the key to beating Florida in overtime with his legs (along with Wilson and Hall and Price).

I rate Peyton as a better qb, obviously, but T. brought alot more to the team than can be read through passing stats. People are forgetting his ability with his legs.

Tee Martin wasn't as good as Heath Shuler. The only way he deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as Peyton is "Tee Martin was Peyton Manning's backup."
