RANK SEC FOOTBALL COACHES (Merged)

talk about not meeting expectations.

But thats the thing...they did meet expectations. Their expectations were to have a rebuilding year...and thats exactly what happened. You saw them struggle early, gell late and beat some quality teams.

i can promise you that before the season started, no self respecting UGA fan penciled in L's next to Vandy and KY.

He stopped rotating qbs after their 7th game, a little past the halfway mark of their season.
:clapping: well congratulations...it took 7 games for him to learn the lesson that Fulmer taugh him 05...he's quick.

why isn't he being criticisized for making that call much sooner? it obviously paid off in the end for them, think of what could have been if only he had made that decision earlier........................

None of those QB's performed that whole time... When one QB lays an egg, you have to do something.

He was able to do it and avoid a losing season.
well happy happy joy joy.......wonder if we could have been so patient with phil had he done the same thing...........doubtful.

and i'm not saying we should be patient, but there is a huge double standard here....

According to some people, 7 games out of 13 is a vast majority.

It's more than half. :p

For the record, Game 7 was the Vandy loss. No wonder he stopped rotating QBs.

I do give Richt props for holding the team together with baling wire. They could have easily (and probably should have) lost to Colorado, Mississippi State and Ga Tech

And the beat (down) goes on, and on,and on.
:horse: :horse: :horse:
Good for the first three months of 07.

that i will agree with, though i think it was the Ole Miss game??? either way though,

Proves my point even more. Richt immediately rallied his troops and turned a probable disaster of a season into one that gives UGA momentum going into next year. How much momentum do you think UT has losing 3 of its final five, with the only victories being against the Kentucky and Vanderbilt teams you're ridiculing? Also, how funny do you think Clemson feels UK is? Probably nowhere near as humorous as they found us a couple of years ago.

I don't buy the momentum carrying over to next year argument. Experience for the young guys at game speed - that carries over, momentum dies when the season does. The next UT football kickoff is 8 months away and there will be myriad personnel changes between now and then. UT and Georgia will win at that time if their personnel execute better than the personnel on teams they play.

This whole argument is steeped in Fulmer's inability to get his very talented personnel to perform at the level of the opponent's often less talented personnel.

I'd lay the crux of UGa's late season turnaround to their defensive play moreso than stellar QB play.

You're right - add that one to the list . . . They should have lost to Ole Miss as well.
they blocked two punts in that game i think...i was more shocked that Ole Miss didn't win than anything else. they ran the ball right down their throat, and BS wasn't exactly great in that game.

i didn't see the MSU game...so not sure about that one.

but it still remains, he does deserve some credit for not letting the wheels come completely off. they could hav easily wound up 6-6 or worse.

The MSU game was Stafford's first complete game. They won 27-24.
