Random Thoughts XXXII

I am about to skip church and nap all day. First Sunday in months I dont have to drive 200 miles.

Thinking about throwing a pork butt on the BGE.

Read on msn where Julianne Hough(actress/singer/dancer) was catching heat for dressing as a black character from some netflix show. It was for a Halloween party and her group of friends were dressed as other characters from the show. I don't see the big deal. It wasn't typical blackface. It was a specific character from a show.(And from the pics I saw tastefully done) Why is it okay for Eddie Murphy to get made up into an old Jewish white guy, but a white person can't reverse the idea and dress as a black character, even for Halloween.

The way this country obsesses over race worries me.

Also saw on msn where some young Native American girl posted she was a "person, not a costume". So it's okay to dress in period costumes that white people wore, no matter your skin color, but it's not okay to dress in period Native American costumes? Last time I checked, NA's weren't dressing in the same manner they did 150 years ago. Unless of course they were looking to make a buck off of it.

All this racial sensitivity is media driven and people need to wake up and see that. They're trying to incite tension and drama. People need to stop taking themselves so seriously.

btw, I posted the last two thoughts here simply to avoid the insanity of the political forum. You're welcome.

Final thought, at least for now, maybe some woman needs to come forward with the arguement that men dressing as women is sexist and offensive and no different than "racial insensitivity".

I apologize in advance for how this would change Jerry's life.
