Remember to love your parents...We are so busy growing up, we often forget they are also growing old.

yes. I was so busy trying to get my things in order, work is all I had on my mind. One day I looked up and my dad was sick, next thing I know he was gone. Not a day goes by that I dont beat myself up for not spending more time with him while he was here.

I'm so glad they listened to me and moved a mile down the road and not back to TN. They see the grand kids at least every other weekend in the summer and at least once a month in the fall/winter. All my sibs and I get along and have fun together.

Buncha years ago a friend gave me tickets to a Tennessee/Ole Miss game in Jackson cause he couldn't go. I called a couple friends to see if they wanted to go and they had other plans. Then it hit me, never been to a college football game with my dad. I called him to see if he was interested and he said sure with no hesitation. We got up and went down there and when we got to our seats we apparently were in bigtime Ole Miss season ticket holder seats, about 20 rows up on the 40 yard line. I noticed the entire row in front of us was empty about 45 minutes til gametime and the folks next to us were very friendly and welcomed us to Rebel nation. About 15 minutes later a line of young guys around 25-35 years of age come filing in and were carrying either a fifth of whiskey or a six pack in each hand. I said to my dad, see that sea of orange on the other side of the stadium, he said yeah and I said maybe we need to move over there. The original folks hated to see us leave but when the Vols spanked the Rebs to the tune of about 42-14 I think we made the right decision. Anyways, sorry for the long post but goobs is right, going to that football game with my dad was one of the most fun things I have ever done and we all should realize that one day they won't be here any more.

Maybe. He's 62. He worries me a little as I wish he would work until at least 65 to help pad a little more but it's his life and his plan. I'm the official worrier of the DD extended family.

Btw you'd be welcome. Swim and drank. I really do wanna see him sloppy drunk for this one. He's almost always in control. Lulz.

Best way to look at it, DD. There comes a time in everyone's life when they need to decide what's best for them in latter years. How much life or quality life/time do I have left? I opted out early and have never looked back.

Apparently Bear Bryants calculations were a little off.

Just relaxing for a change and winding down for the day, H. Been a little stress building the past week or so and time to unlax a bit. How're things your way?
Just trying to keep an even keel between late life career disasters and having a wife fighting her ass off against the big c. But you know me, I will keep on trucking and fight the good fight.

Man, I hope she kicks it's ass once and for all. Not a fun fight. I'm keepin' her in my corner for good luck.

wtf, stranger in da house. What's shakin bro?

Not a whole lot. Just drinking a few. Got my first job after graduation this week. And I think they are trying to work me to death. I could probably have 60 hours if I wanted it, but I don't really want it
