He'd be better playing at 50 than he is running a team.

Jordan at 50 could still be a productive NBA player. The problem is, he'd still expect to be the superstar he was, and so would the fans. He doesn't have superstar hops anymore, but he'd still be the best off the bench player in the NBA.

But why tarnish your legacy to be a 6th man?

Agreed. He may not have the hops, but he never hurt his knees, so I'm sure he can still get up.

He's so competitive, I don't think he'd look at it that way. Heck, suiting up at 50 would add to his legacy IMO. He's accomplished everything else in the league, why not show you can still hang with guys 25 years younger than you? Later on he may regret it tough.

I'm not saying he should. I was just stating that he still has skills to be a better than average NBA player, just not a superstar anymore.

Yeah, he could be a legit player, just seems like a terrible idea.

One problem is he was always quick to the rim, and at 50 - who knows.

It would add only if he came in as a legit scoring option. Otherwise, there is no reason.

IF Jordan were to attempt a comeback, his best option IMO would be switching to the point. Run the offense thru him, not for him. If he still has any of his D skills, he could be a legitimate PG if he committed to it. So technically, he could add to his legacy, it just wouldn't be his legacy as a scorer.
