Right now, I wish it was warm enough to rain. We've been about 8 degrees colder than Nome, AK all day. Where are you from in So Cal?

You still whining about the cold? :)

I am from Orange County. Anaheim specifically. You said before you lived in LA for a time. What brought you there and where did you live?

Clark Griswald did too

Lulz. Honky Lips. Why would anyone tag a car with that?

I'm not big on these sub zero temps. Ever go into the Angeles National Forrest? That's where I lived. Little town named Wrightwood.

No I never did, but it looks like you were outside the madness of LA. Looks like a nice area.

It was. My favorite place there. The house sat around 6600' with a mountain in front and one to the back. 2 lane road that wandered about 55 miles through the mountains and came down north of La Canada just a bit NW of Pasadena. I could drive my jeep from there to the cinder cones E of Barstow and never cross a paved road. Good fishing and the fire roads in the mountains were open to 4 wheeler drive.

Still just an old cowboy town, though. Only times I really ever went there was to go or take someone to the Roy and Dale Museum.

It looked like the crime had really taken hold. I felt like I could be robbed at any moment. Barstow was still hotter than hell like always.

I miss those aspects. I remember my dad taking me out on adventures like that. Good memories.

The area SW of Barstow always seemed the problem to me. Seemed like every time I read about a hate crime in the LA area, the guilty party was from Lancaster or Palmdale area.

My daughter has never been. She has asked to go there several times here lately. They show these dang commercials and all the kids see is a cotton candy machine and a chocolate fountain.
