Random Thoughts XXIV

Give ya another one. I've said this before, but I got sick for sixteen months and this place was the only thing that really kept me busy and along with Braves baseball kept my mind off of it. I would just read for hours on VN. It was awesome.

Which I still had that time. :)
I should probably remember, but what was wrong with you? If you don't mind me asking.

Depends on what doctor you asked :)

I had severe stomach pain and severe pain in other parts of my body randomly. I had about 15 different diagnosis' during my sixteen months of sickness.

Had six surgeries/scopes, etc., saw eight different doctors, probably twelve if you count ER doctors.

And they don't know.

I started getting better and we started racking up a lot of bills (thank God for military insurance) especially because we saw a couple doctors that weren't on our insurance list.

Eventually, when I have time, I'll spend a summer trying to figure out what went wrong.

Right now, it's not a concern. I'm relatively healthy, almost hardly have problems with it (maybe once a month it'll act up. When you have doctors say stuff like "I've done everything. I don't know what to do" you just kind of go "Okay then" and move on.

My grandson has had health problems almost all his life and it's gotten me to the point I almost hate doctors and would like to punch some of them in the face.

No offense to any doctors here, but most of them are worthless. They just prescribe medicine without knowing the problems. They gave me so many pain pills at 16-17 years old nonetheless I was bound to get addicted. Idiots.

Check the number of posts in the Zone compared to the posts in the Pub. You need to shine and there ain't but one place to do it.

I'm not sure about me shining part, but you certainly make a good point about the Zone. Tonight reminds me of some threads we used to have way back in the day around here. Good times.

Seems like doctors are becoming more prescription writers than problem solvers over the past 15 years or so.

There have been heated discussions up in here about the differences between the "old zone" and the "new zone".

We still get some good threads going but, we have some who seem to be afflicted with diarrhea of the threads. Mods are pretty good about toasting those usually.

That's incredible man. I'm glad you're doing better now. When your sick like that you quickly realize how things you previously thought we're so important don't really matter all that much.

I'm not going to go into "It's the best thing that happened to me" mode, because that's not true. But I'm 15x the person I was. I changed as a person. A lot more patience and able to keep things in perspective.

Old Zone Rules. Well, as old as I knew it anyway. One of the big attractions to me when I first started. I do tire of some of the BS over the past year or so.

Longer than that. When I would go to the doctor as a young person he would get me well. Even with my two daughters 34 and 26 when they would go the doctor when they were sick we would have to go back two or three times and then they might have to get well naturally.

Now it's time for the Freak-a-Zone. :)

Years ago we just had these types of Friday night discussions in the football forum.

There are still some good doctors out there that will help. But, it's about as hard as finding a good car mechanic.

I know it goes against the new zone code or something, but, Report!

I will defend doctors in this case that so many people are "sick" it's just hard to do that on a case by case basis, especially when so many "sick" people aren't really "sick".

I understand what you mean and I bet that's the truth. Good for you, man. Like I said, you can't be under 21.

At least they were fun. Some of the drivel that gets posted in there these days borders on lunacy. No character assassination intended for any FF regulars reading this post. :p

Freak, you need to make this Fireside Chat or whatever you want to call it happen. It needs to be a certain day of the week and a certain time frame that fits into your schedule. Sort of like Vols Calls.
