This is true. I think he is on the way back.
The media has taken a dump on him and he seems to be trying to get his family back at the races instead of rappers. I think leaving his fathers management was a poor decision and going to the one he is with now was an even worse one. He should have signed with Willi Weber, he did wonders for Michael Schumacher and even managed to get Ralf handsome amounts of money over his career.
Also, I think it is important to look at the equipment from 2007 vs. 2011. His early cars were near the class of the field. Recently he hasn't had a car which wasn't the best and he had to push very hard to get results. Take 2009 Monza for example. He was pushing very hard and he drove beyond the equipment and payed the price for it. Also at the 2011 Monaco GP, I think he got a bum deal on some of those passes. Guys weren't looking in their mirrors combined with a bit too much enthusiasm from Lewis.
I hope both McLaren and Lewis return to championship form this season.
Wow, wow, wow... In 2007 his car was not the quickest, in 2008 I am not convinced it was either... The problem is that he has no patience, look at Tom Kristensen or if you don't know him maybe Button is a good example. If Lewis would let the race come to him more he would be more in the hunt for a title.... The problem is that although, it's gutsy and exciting what he does, it's stupid most of the time... He is so desparate to win most of the time that he gets himself stuck into holes.
Do I think he will be in contention next year, no, I see Alonso and Jenson being in a battle with Vettel. Reason, Lewis will be so desparate thinking he has something to prove that he will make to many costly mistakes pushing the car too hard. Once again.
Agree to disagree I suppose. I hope things do turn out for Lewis though, he is my all time favorite driver and I think the sport benefits from having him there.
I just want him and McLaren to get that new deal taken care of. Or perhaps he can fill Massa's wasted seat.
