I've read a lot of different takes on it through the years. Devil worship, old rehab facility, old church taken over by the devil worshipers, prison, etc. I read an interview by Don Henley and one of the others in Rolling Stone years ago. They said it was about the excesses of living the high life in LA. They were going through it themselves with money, women and drugs being thrown at them left and right and getting caught up in it. The line- Her mind is tiffany-twisted, she got the mercedes bends, Henley said was a play on words with the spelling a reference to Joplin's song Mercedes Benz or something like that. Reading the lyrics almost all the stories make sense to me.

Interesting take. Do you really believe that? Not saying you shouldn't.....just asking.

I can see it being three different things. Excess-Getting caught up in it and can't get out. Drugs/drink-Same. Rehab-good lines that easily make the case. Prison-Not as much but some. I don't know what the real story is. Love the song, though.

I read the same interview and believe it. I used to think it was the devil
Worship but listening to it after reading that interview it honestly made more sense.
