Random, Thoughts, X,XXIV

Well, plan A is for hospital bills, plan B is basically for doctor visits and charges, plan D is for prescriptions and plans F & G are for supplemental insurance that covers the 20% that Medicare doesn’t. Plan C is what is called Medicare Advantage which I highly recommend you stay away from because they restrict what doctors you can see and some doctors refuse to accept it. My primary care doctor has a sign on the inside of the exit door from the treatment area to the waiting room that says they do not accept Medicare Advantage plans.
Yep, the insurance companies push Advantage plans. They are great as long as you are healthy. That ain't gonna last long for most of us 65+ though.
They have websites and call centers that look like they are there to help you. They will try to sell you "Advantage".

I have Supplemental plan G. I was in ICU for a week, and saw the first bill, Ouch over $100,000. And that was almost 7 years ago. Ended up costing me $0.00.
Seems there is a "higher deductible" Plan G in some states.
When I had sepsis I was in the ICU for a month and in the hospital for three months and didn’t pay anything. 🫤

@82_VOL_83, hospitality is one of the fundamental virtues. I do not doubt that if I were in need of such, you would offer it. If I am wrong about your character, let me be disillusioned and continue to think better of you, my fellow retiree.

In need is different from casual visit. There are only 2 or 3 on VN that I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire.

Stop being pitiful.
